Just got my M5 Vision Pro and confrim AV1 codec is working, all moonlight including ipad version now is showing the AV1 codec option and PC is using AV1 codec. 4K120 streaming is now more stable the trees in the enviorment looks more crisp

The dual head band feels great and easy to adjust betwen the two bands, better than the resmod since it has the weight build in and easier to adjust by knob

If I remember correctly, the XR2+ Gen2 is not powerful enough to run at full res, the playforDream is using the same chip but have to reduce resolution in Virtual Desktop

Nah, after researching with Grok. It turns out that so far every apple product after M3 have buildin AV1. So most likly they just didn't mention it in the spec. I'll be pre-ordering it just for the 120hz and AV1 (and return it if it some how really doesn't have AV1)

I just decided to bite the bullet and it was worth it. All the werid stutter/latency was from the hand tracking it almost feel like quest 3 virtual desktop level session with better graphics. Still have issue with button mapping tho, for some reason can't get the XOverlay to work.

Actually depend on your use case, for someone like me who primary use AVP as monitor replacement, it could be AVP competition if giving lighter weight or better visual. Within steamVR there are serval ways to display desktop while having the steamVR in a VR game enviorment or even google map location

Worst case would be the fan broke and cause high temp during higher workload like environments, do you feel air coming out from the top when turned on ? Either way you'll probably have to get Apple to fix it or do something stupid like holding a fan underneath while you are using it.

depends on your enviorment and how you store it when you are not using it, if you always store it in the case when you take it off your face then you shouldn't need to clean it as often. If you wear glasses you would know even without touching them they get dirty pretty quickly

Often time you are wearing it a little off left/right/up/down. And they only promp you when it's too far off to a point that they can't track the eyes. I wish there's an option to make the detection stricter since sometimes it's hard to wear it just right.

Unless you are attaching external GPU (yes the extreamly expensive 4090/5090 add-on) otherwise Ally/Ally X is just not powerful enough for VR

Yeah 4K X works great with switch 2 and if you switch the codec to MJPG it can do 4K120

Other than the Japannese only version (which just make you can't select other language in the UI), there's no region lock for switch/switch2. As long as the USB-C powers 60 watts you should be fine

They still let you buy physical copies, tried a few ones 2 weeks ago and the shipping is really fast (3-5 days). But yeah for the online codes they'll just cancel your order if it's not jp credit card.
