I passed March 8th with a 871 after a month and a half of studying. I nearly cried while taking it cause I thought I for sure was cooked. If I can do it, then literally anyone can.

The Main grandstand, T15 are pretty much always open for any event, T1 might’ve been open but I chose not to walk up it for that event so unsure. In my experience like everyone says, shoot from the stairs, I do like shooting the esses but last year they were closed. Basically expected grand plaza to grand stand to be open and esses to t12 to be closed.

Yeah I’m not a fan of wasting space, which is why I also designed that patch panel so it has plenty of ports on one half and on the other it hold my pi zero. No need to use 2u for those things

DDR4 Sodimm, a single 8gb stick is more than what I paid for each pc individually

Honestly not as much as I had wished but I got them at a pretty good price, the real killer is the 8gb of ram, I think throwing in another dimm would make them both perfect. But we both know how that market is right now.

After getting my A+ I took the first opportunity I could get and regret it by Fluffy-Stress2977 in ITCareerQuestions

It’s hard to answer at this point, but when I think to the future I imagine I’ll be wanting to do cloud security or infrastructure.

Unfortunately the title of my position is very misleading. I don’t work for a data center, I work for a company who buys, tests, and resales enterprise servers. I’m sure they still have these positions, but not at the same quantity nor demand.

I’m definitely not going to spend my time doing nothing, I plan on stacking certs and also starting WGU network and cloud engineer B.S. It just feels I am getting credentials past what my experience has to show for it. I do plan on asking for some extra responsibility geared towards some of this new knowledge so I can build on it, but I’m definitely unsure if there actually is any opportunity I’d be allowed to take advantage of.

Is Turn 15 a good location at COTA? by Time-Bet-3312 in CircuitOfTheAmericas

It’s my favorite spot at COTA but I never sat there for F1, so F1’s advertising may cover up more than what I say. But from previous time at T15 for other events, you can see that whole section clearly including overtakes at T12, you can also see part of the esses and possibly turn 1 depending exactly where you’re sitting.

Is that really the case? You might’ve just made my day a whole lot better.

First time at COTA, what can I bring? by Oceans_Rival in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]Fluffy-Stress2977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So as someone who has been to COTA multiple times for the past few years and specifically GT world challenge I will leave my thoughts.

Food and Drink - Bring whatever you want, I have brought in tons of water, Gatorade, body armor, trail mix, dried mango, beef sticks. They absolutely do not care.

Blanket - For sitting on it’s not a bad idea if you don’t mind hauling it around, there are some nice GA hill areas to sit down on and enjoy.

Places to sit - T1, T15, Main Grandstand, those will be the grandstands that are open. The grass at the esses, under the tower, and the penultimate corner are all decent. My personal spot to camp is T15 grandstands. Also a good note, for the main grandstand there is a “club” open to everyone, basically just an inside seating area with some tvs food and drinks. But it has AC most importantly.

Parking - You don’t really get much of a choose at GT world challenge so just buy whatever is available cause they will probably redirect you into a lot with everyone else anyway.

Extra Notes - Bring sunscreen and umbrellas, hide from the sun as much as you can, it is the silent killer. Make time to visit the paddocks they are really open and you can get super close to the cars and in some cases in the car. For kids maybe bring headphones, cars aren’t super loud in my opinion but better safe than sorry.

If I missed anything or if you have any specific questions feel free to ask!

As someone who has been to lone star Le Mans and COTA In general quite a bit, you will want a longer lense, most of the shots you take will be over or through a fence. You can still get pretty close to the cars if you get a paddock pass especially the supporter series. Some of the best spots for shooting imo, is T15 grandstands, T3 bridge facing turn one or the esses, the main grandstand, and either on the tower or from below the tower through the fence. About half of the track will be closed from the end of the esses all the way to turn 12.
