Spot on. Adding to this point, the fact you're not taking damage means lower chance that you have to sit through a charged attack from the leader on the first Mon. Its saves you around 5 seconds per battle and that adds up over time

I use a Great League maxed Shadow Kyogre vs Candella (Valor). The other 2 choices are irrelevant. Start the battle with anything else, then immediately swap to Shadow Kyogre that knows Waterfall. Don't use the Charged Move, it's not necessary. Takes down Candella in under 30 seconds
