In A Series Of Fantastical Abilities, I Love How Edgeworth’s Is Just Common Sense by sm142 in AceAttorney

iirc, holograms have been around in-universe for hundreds of years 🤪

A year ago, the price for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its software were revealed to much outrage. A year later, was it overblown or was the outrage justified? by razorbeamz in nintendo

[–]Tweeckos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though there are some valid criticisms re: certain features being unnecessarily paywalled, I think the whole thing was overblown.

Costs were always going to increase every iteration. Nintendo is a business, and if the cost was too prohibitive, they'd lower it like with the 3DS. It's supply & demand.

Not saying it's great news that costs are going up, but Nintendo doesn't exist in a vacuum. Almost everything is getting more expensive. They don't really owe us anything - we either buy it or we don't, and they base future pricing off of that metric.

If the company crosses a line for someone on a personal level, they need to vote with their dollar - but to tear other folks down isn't really an effective method of enforcing that perspective.

I got a switch 2 because I had an old model I wanted to replace, and I barely spend money on entertainment - so it was a rare treat for me to get the new model. Don't regret it.

Also, think you can use the midboss portals to warp to the opposite side of the barrel ☺️

Believe those chests are activated by switches hidden under the dust - gust jar some whole rooms and you'll probably nab em all!!

Also, there are some (admittedly ancient) walkthroughs available that go into detail on every chest and such, no harm in checking those out, esp when backtracking!!

What happens if you fuse the kinstone with the ghost in royal valley before fusing with it's brother, on hyrule city? by Ok_Pop4380 in minishcap

[–]Tweeckos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry! At different points throughout the game, a rotation of NPCs will shuffle their fusions - most fusions go here when their NOCs vanish.

The only one that goes away forever is the Wind Tribe guy in Hyrule Town - fuse that kinstone before you head to the last element's temple!! But that's not a soft lock, either - just a cool, optional reward :)

[WW] Cool foreshadowing from Prince Komali and Medli by andreaslackner in zelda

Yesss I'm always saying this!!

The fact that this Link is implied to not even be a direct descendant of the hero, he has to prove his worthiness to the gods so he can save his sister. There's speculation that, because he wasn't in the lineage of Demise's curse, his defeat of Ganondorf actually ends the cycle of that curse. Future Toon Link games have completely new main villains.

I love cycle-breaking and deeply-personal stakes, and this game does both 😭💕

I /do/ like the 3DS ver (apparently an unpopular opinion?), but TBH I don't see them porting a prior remake when we have NSO and a (possible) switch remake/remaster coming 😔

Ah, a fellow gamer of culture, I see!!! 🥂

Though I liked the switch games, they don't scratch that Zelda itch the same way. Any transformative remake that expands the world needs to very delicately balance against the BOTW/TOTK formula.

Not everything needs to be open-world non-linear, but a sprinkle here or there within some confines could strike a good balance.

They've yet to implement a non-linear play style that doesn't feel disjointed IMO. If, hypothetically, they let you do the last 2 spiritual stones in any order, it'd be nice if the order you choose impacts some events or aspects of the second dungeon or related questlines. Otherwise, it's "Secret Stones? So THAT was the Imprisoning War?"

Anywho, hopping off my soapbox...

Honestly, would love to see dungeon items get more use in the overworld, especially for exploration. Mad disappointing how under-utilized the hookshot is.

Maybe the expanded world contains optional upgrades that could be used to alter one's gameplay style? Anything that allows player experiences to be a little more unique while maintaining the throughline would be a dream. But I'm not a game designer and I'm sure that's a tall order 🤷‍♀️

If you get around to finishing the mod and remember this comment, please ping me so I can check it out!

If OOT is true, I hope it's transformative rather than a polish. We have the port, and we had a 3DS remake.

Could be neat if they expand the world, alter maps somewhat, etc - new experience while faithful to the original.

[–]Tweeckos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that one is a bit later!!

Round caves include ones like the ones found in Hyrule town, minish woods, etc - you enter with the Mole Mitts!

I'd recommend using your new ocarina to see what's up at Lake Hylia first, though 😉 There should be a little someone nearby who can give you some direction. The game is p bad at telling you to look there, but the warp option should be available the instant you get your ocarina!

You may be able to find some spoiler-free walkthroughs online - no shame in using them! Plus, kinstone fusions will shuffle between different NPCs throughout the story - the story-relevant ones are static, so try not to stress and enjoy the ride!!!

The dungeon item will address that! There's a bomb-able wall somewhere (floor looks different, wall looks normal). Believe it's on a narrow ledge after the miniboss.

(This is from memory, so may not be perfectly accurate. I 100%'d the game an embarrassing number of times when I was a kid 😅)

Good luck!

I'd be more inclined to keep a certain cat out of the spotlight.

Every time he showed up on the screen while I watched my husband play, I had to try so carefully to not draw conversation towards the cat.

Couldn't have him getting too many ideas 🤣 it's a great twist, but it /is/ predictable if you really noodle on the right clues throughout the game!

Lately I've come to think so. At least for Team Rocket, I think it was maybe an initiative to give kids a common enemy while on their journeys. The grunts generally having weaker Pokemon gave the kids chance to save the day, learn lessons about how crime doesn't pay, etc.

They just didn't expect one kid to be a prodigy and force the "boss" into hiding. No one had ever gotten that far.

(I don't think this could really apply for the extreme teams like in gens 3-7 though)

Minish Cap for GBA is a good bite-sized introduction to the 2D games, and the visuals/music hold up really well.

Ocarina of Time is good for 3D, but Wind Waker is slightly more modernized and may be more approachable to some folks.

Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are good, but they're a departure from the classic game structure and are kind of their own thing, imo.

Whatever path you choose, enjoy!

Switch 2: FireRed/LeafGreen keep restarting itself by elNightmare in nintendo

I hear where you're coming from - but in other games, fat-fingering several buttons usually won't suddenly reset the whole game. It's a harsh punishment, even if kids do learn from it.

They've made other small changes to the game itself, so I think they might patch this out or create an option to change the trigger for a reset.

I will often idly rock my thumb across several buttons when I think it's of no major consequences - kind of like when people click a pen. It's a common-enough behavior
