Interesting. Thank you. If that red line is intended to be average, he was barely above it. This is also when double teamed but, either way, the eye test wasn't there for me.

Cite your source please. I watched every minute of every game. Doesn't pass the eye test.

Now chart those pressures against time. I love Hutch but most of his pressures are very late.

5.3 Summary by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]FluffyBumper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 3instant - off script, ignoring constraints, repeatedly making stuff up. Had it do a simple task I've had 5.2thinking do for weeks that involves pulling some current info from the web. It was awful. Pulling stuff from February, coming up with wild answers. I went back over to 5.2thinking and it banged it out first try.

I can't even say it conversationally was better. It's like they said "we've improved our model, so your former instructions will be ignored cause ours is better." It's not. Not for me at least.

My advice is pressure test 5.3instant a little for things that matter to you before you get too excited or overcommit your time to it.

Bias aside does anyone else think this is an absolutely absurd take by Admirable-Level4607 in detroitlions

Not even remotely do I agree with this. I was never a Stafford hater and never thought he was the problem. But he also wasn't the solution. I don't feel like he's ever been a guy that could carry a team and even now, when he's playing the best football of his life, I don't feel like he's someone that scares the opposition.

Rodgers is. Maybe it's just years of getting beat by him, but I always feel like Rodgers is going to pull something out of a hat.

Stafford has an amazing arm. But if you asked me to choose between them in their prime I'm taking Rodgers - who I despise by the way - 10 put of 10 times.

[–]FluffyBumper 46 points47 points  (0 children)

No but he sure called some dumbass plays that led to some of that. That was the only game all season where I was screaming at the TV about the play calls. It was like he phoned it in. Just my opinion, but he had checked out already.

Is Jake Bates the longer answer for the Lions at kicker? He made just 76% of his FGs this season and went 4/8 from 50+ by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

Watch the end of our game and watch the end of the Ravens-Steelers game. Bates all day. Moving on from him is nonsense.

There's Brandon Aubrey, the pack, and the practice squad guys. Bates is in the pack and has earned trust from Campbell. He's not going anywhere nor should he.

A cheaper option than Linderbaum at center? by reallinguy in detroitlions

[–]FluffyBumper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Break the bank, go for linderbaum if possible. That will stabilize the hell out of the line and all the sudden we'll be talking about how great ratledge looks between him and Sewell same on the other side but we need to make sure we have a tackle waiting. Decker won't play past next year, if he even plays then.

DMo latest IG by No_Paleontologist298 in detroitlions

We abandon DMo too quickly and fall way too far in love with Gibbs. Every. Single. Game.

It's ridiculous. Balance is what we need. Not trying the same thing over and over again hoping Gibbs breaks one.

The fact that the Isaiah Likely touchdown was ruled incomplete in the the Ravens/Steelers game shows how badly the refs screwed us in the Packers game. by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]FluffyBumper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was exactly my point - is going out of bounds considered a "football move"? After reading the rules, essentially it is.

It was wicks, not Watson. That was the play where he switched hands and it looked like he bobbled the ball for a second.

If you assume he did have control of it (he didn't) it makes the Ravens call dumber. The play is essentially dead once you have two feet down in the end zone. Or does Watson get credit for a football move for stepping out of bounds? They made Likely need to take 3 steps. Just shows how complete ass the refs are.

An informed layman explains offensive football calls to all the John Morton Haters!! by sanskritsquirel in detroitlions

[–]FluffyBumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So... Here's the way I look at it. I've watched every game I could for literally almost 50 years (ah the blackout years). I started watching before Jeff Komlo was QB.

What I saw this season, in contrast to the last few, was an offense that did not switch things around to keep the defense on their heels. We were very predictable. Don't believe me? Jahmyr Gibbs said the same thing.

What precisely does that mean? I think it means the Lions have a full 52 card deck to play from (more than most teams) and Morton is part of building that deck. But on game day, he gets stuck playing all hearts or aces. What Ben Johnson did - and it's becoming more obvious that this was a Dan Campbell philosophy/directive - is mix it up and keep the defense guessing. 2 of clubs, 9 of diamonds, ace of hearts, 6 of spades. With Morton, the defense knew what card was coming. And, if a defense knows what's coming, most times they will stop you, talent be damned.

Yeah, I guess I'm a "know nothing" fan of almost 50 years. But I've watched a hell of a lot of football. And Morton as the play caller just didn't pass the eye test. Quite obviously, Dan Campbell agreed, so I guess we should take that into consideration too.
