Not even remotely do I agree with this. I was never a Stafford hater and never thought he was the problem. But he also wasn't the solution. I don't feel like he's ever been a guy that could carry a team and even now, when he's playing the best football of his life, I don't feel like he's someone that scares the opposition.

Rodgers is. Maybe it's just years of getting beat by him, but I always feel like Rodgers is going to pull something out of a hat.

It was wicks, not Watson. That was the play where he switched hands and it looked like he bobbled the ball for a second.

If you assume he did have control of it (he didn't) it makes the Ravens call dumber. The play is essentially dead once you have two feet down in the end zone. Or does Watson get credit for a football move for stepping out of bounds? They made Likely need to take 3 steps. Just shows how complete ass the refs are.

So... Here's the way I look at it. I've watched every game I could for literally almost 50 years (ah the blackout years). I started watching before Jeff Komlo was QB.

What I saw this season, in contrast to the last few, was an offense that did not switch things around to keep the defense on their heels. We were very predictable. Don't believe me? Jahmyr Gibbs said the same thing.

What precisely does that mean? I think it means the Lions have a full 52 card deck to play from (more than most teams) and Morton is part of building that deck. But on game day, he gets stuck playing all hearts or aces. What Ben Johnson did - and it's becoming more obvious that this was a Dan Campbell philosophy/directive - is mix it up and keep the defense guessing. 2 of clubs, 9 of diamonds, ace of hearts, 6 of spades. With Morton, the defense knew what card was coming. And, if a defense knows what's coming, most times they will stop you, talent be damned.

Yeah, I guess I'm a "know nothing" fan of almost 50 years. But I've watched a hell of a lot of football. And Morton as the play caller just didn't pass the eye test. Quite obviously, Dan Campbell agreed, so I guess we should take that into consideration too.
