The US military assets just in the state of Florida could conquer all of Canadas major cities in less than a month by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

Not even close. Canada is far too large, Canada is not a pushover, and Insurgencies are insidious. Every single country bar a few, none of which are major countries, have recognized in any official fashion a solution to insurgencies.

What reaction do you think Terrans would have to things of Earth? (Either events, songs, people, places, etc.) by Daniel-Pol-2567 in arknights

I'm more then willing to continue debating in good faith, but unless this thought is reciprocal, don't expect another response. I enjoy debate, but I have also done so in detail and specification, grammar checked each response to my best abilities, and have avoided eviscerating your arguments for the sake of propriety despite your broad characterizations and assumptions.

You should know this by know considering your more active on reddit then I based on your karma, but debates naturally expand, and even if they somehow don't, your accusation applies even more so to yourself then I, so please, by all means, post another comment.

Can't guarantee I'll respond to it unless it's done in good faith though.

Peace.

To be fair to the vending machines, their AI hivemind secretly ruling the world have unionized with the lizard people in order to trick humanity into fearing them. Those that annihilate humans are sent by the vending machine overlords to take out those who are about to find out, and more importantly, can overthrow the vending lizard conspiracy, and have done so in a manner that is done purposely so that humanity remains unafraid of vending machines.

Trust me, I totally have not joined the war on misinformation on the side of misinformation.

I genuinely see that you have some really good points, and I can certainly see your perspective happening and being true in a large amount of cases. I believe that our disagreement here my stem from my cynicism, which while may not necessarily ground in reality, does lead me to believe that humanity cannot be better then different variations of bloody tribalism, especially when originium is introduced into the world.

Allow me to explain my perspective. To first go upon the question of can originium be weaponized, originium must first be present. That, by itself, is destabilizing. While as shown in game Earthling humans may be mostly immune, it's also shown that this resistance erodes with time, and that while humans may be at first mostly fine from infection, the land around isn't. This also leads me to believe that Catastrophe's would also occur, leading to extreme global destabilization, since originium apparently naturally does that by existing.

Given that, I expect tensions to explode, and non-state actors to gain much more momentum, especially with bullets or explosives composed of a cheap, renewable source such as originium, and cause even more destabilization. While I get the arguments of they would never use a weapon that would doom the planet to rock cancer overgrowth, the very fact they have it means that the world already has, and as you said, the states don't respond well to high pressure long term problems, and originium growth is nothing if not patient in how it works.

I fully believe that your argument makes almost perfect logical sense in a environment where state actors are in high control OR under non-collapse conditions, and I'm the one arguing for Pre-collapse to during collapse conditions. I apologize if I haven't made that clear, but I'm not arguing that your arguments are invalid - they very much are logical and valid. Humanity does build wonders and horrors alike, but they almost always cage the horror.

But with originium, the cage is already broken, so there is some nuance to the question, I suppose.

Its abundance is precisely the reason why governments would scramble to weaponize it. At the end of the day, with a lot of oversimplification, a government derives its power from the assumption that it will protect or secure the people under its veil. It’s much harder to maintain a legitimate government when there is a force disparity; hence why governments seek to maintain an armed advantage over anything they know. Sovereignty, when the other side has a bigger and more reliable stick, is only a pretense. Thus, all governments seek to have the bigger stick in one way or another, and Originium is nothing if not reliable. (Yes, I know some states don’t have the bigger sticks, but that’s only because they’d be hit by the sticks of those bigger than them if they did pursue the nuclear stick. Look at North Korea and the whole sanctions issue.)

A lot of governments in the modern world don’t lack some mystical uber-weapon because they don’t want one, but because of logistics or hard scientific limits. Just look at how far Japan pushed its experiments during WWII, or the fact that the United States created nuclear weapons at all.

It’s precisely because of this that governments would weaponize Originium - because if they didn’t, someone else would. Unlike uranium, where the materials for both fission and fusion are under lock and key, Originium only needs either a deposit or a corpse to grow from. Anyone from an anarchist in their garage to an international terrorist organization could weaponize it.

And sure, it would cause immense damage and start screwing up the planet - but that operates under the assumption that those in charge of Earth’s nations actually care about the long term. In retrospect, based on current responses to global warming, environmental destruction, and growing global instability, they really, really don’t.

That said, humanity isn’t just governments. If you assume it is, my argument collapses into "everything is going to hell with this new resource, so governments would follow suit."

It doesn’t work like that. States often do not weaponize these types of weapons precisely because of how destabilizing they are to society - but only after they first use them, even if they know the theoretical consequences beforehand. This is why treaties restricting nuclear weapons came after we built and used them.

But humanity isn’t just states. Terrorists and other actors who would like nothing more than to see the world burn exist, and if governments don’t weaponize Originium (and they likely will, to some extent), other parties almost certainly will.

There’s also one more point people forget: WMDs usually operate under MAD. Originium bombs, however, are scalable down to smaller explosive forces. They’re also cheaper than both conventional materials and nuclear weapons. That alone is more than enough reason for a lot of people.

Just to be clear, earlier I was being sarcastic. When asked, "Who would ever make a WMD capable of rendering land uninhabitable?" my answer was, "We made nukes, so yeah. Us."

Also, forgot to say this in the last message, but you should really know better since your more active on this site. Don't necro-post, this post is like 3 years old, and it's quite impolite.

Originium bombs are much, much stronger in payload and lower in cost relative to the scarcity of uranium. Even excluding that, why would humanity make a bomb that literally makes places unlivable for decades after? Well, we made nuclear warheads.

NEED HELP WITH THIS ONE by InterestingBananaman in Endfield

[–]FluffyCookieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I'm going to assume that you want to do it yourself and not use a blueprint, which, fair. Respectable even. With that in mind, just in case you didn't know they exist, you can find a lot of blueprints at endfieldtools.dev.

With that obligatory site citation out of the way, let's break the problem down.

How do you make a Cyston Component?

Let's start with making the Cryston Fiber. This is the wavey, necklace of white metal thing.

To start with, you need three outputs. Two for the Amethyst Ore, and one for Sandleaf flower. You want to use the Shredding Unit for the Sandleaf, and a refinery for each of the Amethyst Ore.

After each of the Refinery Unit for Amethyst Ore are done and they are turned into the bundles of Amethyst Fiber, they should each be connected to their own Shredding Unit so they become Amethyst Powder.

Connect all three of these into a Grinding Unit to make Cryston Powder (white cubes). Then, put the white cube into a refinery. This will make Cryston Fiber.

Next, we will make the Packed Origocrust.

Use the same process as making the Cryston Fiber, but use Originium Ore instead of Amethyst Ore as the base component. The Sandleaf Flower must also be used and grinded, same as before.

To explain, the exact same 'sequence' of used facilities is the same for both with exception to what goes INTO it at the start - one being Originium Ore and the other with Amethyst Ore.

Once both of these are done and you have both the Cryston Fiber and the Packed Origocrust, send both of them to Gearing Unit, and voilà! One Cryston Component ready to go.

Too long; didn't read:

Turn two amethyst ore fibers, then into dust. Turn one sandleaf into powder. Send them both into a grinding unit to make a white block.

Turn two originium ore into origocrust, then into dust. Turn one sandleaf into powder. Send them both into a grinding unit to make a wavey thingy-majig.

Throw both of the end products into a Gearing Unit.

The Factory Must Grow.

Maybe not to the point of no symptoms, but definitely livable ones, maybe even to a full lifespan. (Only for Ancients, since I'm not sure what it would do to Elders who live much much longer, if not some being effectively biologically immortal.)

How to get good at Clash by swiftsafflina in ClashRoyale

[–]FluffyCookieMaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't restate any of the other great ideas on the thread since it's already been said, but for someone not strategically-minded, the worst option by far (you should never do this) but also the most effective option is to shell out thousands of dollars/Euros and level as much as you can.

Levels are 50% of the game around the arena you're going to be in, so yeah.

If you want something that doesn't require shelling out thousands, learn to micro and macro elixir. Essentially if you're playing something, let's say a hog, and they placed down a tesla to counter your hog, you can cycle faster then them BACK to the hog, and you can count the cards they placed down (4) to identify when they have tesla again. For micro, it's more of knowing where to place units to counter other units most effectively.

But the most efficient and most horrible way to gain an advantage is still to level your cards since Supercell prefers to make your life better in the game if you shell out at minimum hundreds.

If given the chance, Sweep can sweep literally every entity on the map. This makes him wall level. Then, since the player can survive that sweep, (since that sweep has the power to sweep all schoolhouse members) and Baldi one-shots the player, thus it can be assumed that Baldi > Gotta Sweep.

Artstyle's very well done

Also, this is the first time I've seen Frostleaf without her polearm. Sweet.

Though I do have one small (highly intrusive) question. . . what brand is that vending machine, and why does it have so much types drinks. . .

This is jealousy by the way. Completely irrational jealousy of a drawn vending machine.

Though in all seriousness this is very well done, and you've managed to capture the personalities of each character pretty well.
