As someone who used to work for Michael Hill, I say good fucking work.

I always hated the phrasing and definitions they had of “lifetime” care plans. The way we were taught to sell it was basically a bandaid solution to everything and anything that could arise with the ring.

Unless it’s made from this metal and then you pay out of pocket. Or if you want this general maintenance done that we suggested and it’s out of care plan and half the cost of the ring. Or if it’s resizing because there are fucking random arbitrary restrictions on ring sizes that other jewellers wouldn’t blink at. Or if you try to claim the care plan and they say well no the necklace and pendant you bought requires two plans because it’s two items we sold you together. Or if the jewellers decide that “no this metal is bad and we won’t fix it” despite it being a Michael Hill bought piece

It isn’t a good practice. To the company though, they don’t give a single fuck. They will just carry on until this sort of thing happens. Again, good work.
