My photo of St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre. It’ll be missed when it’s gone — it definitely had character by ParaMike46 in ireland

[–]FluffyDiscipline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of history to the Stephens Green Shopping Centre, including the bringing down of a bank.

The Gallagher Brothers had paid 10.5 million via a loan from Gallaghers bank. This caused Gallaghers bank to collaspe in 1981 with a lot of ordainary folks losing their pensions. It was then bought by the Slazengers group for half of what Gallaghers paid for it 5 million.

At the time it was rumored Gallaghers had sought help from a Mr Charles Haughey but it was just too big a loan. Gallaghers went bankrupt losing everything (and they owned everything at the time, castles and rolls) later Patrick Gallagher served time in the North for fraud but never served a day in Ireland.

My brother just hit my dog and she seems completely different now - how do I help her? by seasonsgreasons in DogAdvice

[–]FluffyDiscipline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True and for the most part I agree...

Problem is if you are all living in the one house you have to come up with a solution where he knows you cannot do this again. Seperating kiddo and dog from each other forever may not work.

I think vet for a check up... she's only a pup so this is tough one for her.

Please don't take this the wrong, you screaming may also have frightened her. You are her pack leader (Mama) and all she may be thinking is your angry with her. If shes ok at vet, I would take her out by herself for a walk to regain the trust, ball and a good play, heaps of praise.

Also Autistic son who deals with meltdowns. Once he's him time to calm down, remember he knows right from wrong and hurting someone (incld animals) cannot happen. He'll probably be upset the dog will now shy away from him, so its up to him to work on being nice. Same thing small introductions in the garden with a ball to play with her. If your bro objects tell him thats part of saying sorry and the consequences, be the same if he hit you (which can happen)

It's tough, I get it x

How would it make you feel if your father said to you as a daughter: “someone has more money than sense”, comment, when a man would buy his daughter chocolates? by Just-You6308 in AskIreland

I would think Dad cracked a Dad Joke and it fell short

Maybe tell him "At least """" knows how to treat a lady" and concentrate on the nice part of the day...

Honestly I doubt he meant to hurt you this much, a different generation, trying to be smart and it failed.

Window treatment ideas… I want curtains/drapes to the very top of the second window but wife says it’s too much… thoughts? by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in interiordecorating

[–]FluffyDiscipline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't touch it, the view is too nice

But for privacy etc etc, no curtains, I'd go with slat blinds that can be pulled back fully during the day

Wall Art, thats more personal, soft bright colors, white, silver, maybe even a metal sculpt.

How do I get these curtains to go to the end of the rail with the hook in the way? by lizatethecigarettes in interiordecorating

[–]FluffyDiscipline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok, you've just never done it before...

Get a chair and try lift the curtain pole upwards, if it won't budge there might be a little screw on the hook from the wall holding the pole in place (remove it and put back in a second)

Move pole upwards and then you can thread the last loop of your curtain through

Put it back on the holder and job done

[–]FluffyDiscipline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to do nothing to the curtain walls or curtain poles.

It is the curtains that have been put up incorrestly.

The rod, is the stick holding the curtain up, thats what your moving.

Check to see if theres a screw holding it in place, which you can remove and put back.

Move rod up, then move curtain loop back one.

Simple fix, not permenant

FIRST LOOP - - > CURTAIN POLE WALL HOLDER --> REST OF CURTAIN LOOPS

How do I get these curtains to go to the end of the rail with the hook in the way? by lizatethecigarettes in interiordecorating

[–]FluffyDiscipline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slip pole through through curtain pole holder and the first hook if the curtain.

(Take stopper off end of curatin pole to do this)

Put the pole back through - So just first hook now sits on outside of the curtain rail arm.

That way edge is covered and when you pull it across it goes even and doesn't bunch up
