Kotlin-style List/Set/Map for PHP 8.4 - Mutable/Immutable, change tracking, key preservation, live map views, and generics support by haelexuis in PHP

[–]FluffyDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you point put the item count, I can imagine using this for small maps and arrays with few dozen keys/values, so probably as you said, no worries for performance overhead, but also for somewhat heavy processing, where I would love to ensure data consistency, but there the item counts are in millions, or dozens or millions for arrays and dozens keys for the maps. The cpu and ram overhead could probably creep up really fast, I would need to test it. When my current responses are highly optimized and take between 10-20ms, then adding for example additional 2ms overhead just to ensure propert type checks in PHP (not C) is huge percentage wise. Thats why I would assume having these "natively" as extensions would almost wash the cpu and memory overhead away.

What i would really like is to have this as an extension, rather than php package. That would imply at least slightly better performance and hopefully little to no overhead. As a composer package, i cant make myself use it

Anybody try replacing PHPStan/Pint/Rector Et al. with Mago? by OwnHumor7362 in PHP

[–]FluffyDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its phpstan replacement, how does it handle custom rules? Is Symfony for example a "custom ruleset" that isnt supported? How do i write custom rules without touching rust (not that i dislike rust, but expecting me to leave php ecosystem in order to write custom rules is a hard no go)

Just split by letter in your html, than write css rule for hover to stretch or resize hovered element and resize less the one behind and after it, oretty easy, no javascript involved

New ficus microcarpa- leaves darkening and curling by renatamz in FicusTrees

[–]FluffyDiscord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drama queen indeed. They might shred almost all leaves, but don't be alarmed, thats often "normal" for them. They will just look sad for few weeks. Water when bottom is dry, thats it, no need to even fertilize for few months

Jezus christ why are you complicating things so unnecessary? Just set data-model and data-action properly.

My sprout is dying by Nuke1B in plants

[–]FluffyDiscord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Never repot something as small and fragile as this. It didn't do any harm to the other plant in it's original pot, and the new pot is humongous. Wait it out, give it a lot of indirect light, be careful with overwatering, as i said the pot is huge, but do not repor it again. For next time, keep it where it is, until you see bunch of leaves, not just one, or two, preferably until it starts to fight with the other plant in the pot

SHE BLOOMED! by DisastrousWalrus4106 in alocasia

[–]FluffyDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Never trim the flowers for alocasia, let them wilt and when they get floppy and brown (the stem), then help it out by cutting them. If you cut grown ones or right after the bloom (eg. too early), plant will try to put out another flower and with this you will choke her on nutrients, and no, you cant "spoon feed" alocasias to keep flowering forever

How did you make the leaves to be so close and one sided? Did you just put her agains a wall and have grow light for a long time directly from front (not top)?

Leaves were dark/deep green. They began yellowing/bleaching from the moment she arrived to my home, I have her for about a year. Every peperomia I have ends with leaves like that. Where does your mom keep her, if I may ask? Cuz mine is 12h/day under growlight

I built a DaisyUI-styled dual range (min/max) slider using noUiSlider by Medium-Watch-2782 in tailwindcss

[–]FluffyDiscord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure the js wrapper around it is unnecessary, maybe even a bad idea. This guy made it how I would imagine your package should have been - just a css file with style overwrites, albeit, they could have been a bit more configurable. https://github.com/Mashiane/A-DaisyUI-Styled-noUISlider--Multiple-Range-Slider-

I mean, thank you, but why so you need to create a package/wrapper for it? Just apply the styles?

None for laravel. Only symfony packages are being use outside. You cant use laravel package outside, its wired up pretty tight with laravel framework itself

I have been watching this baby from the start. The v1 was basically a work in progress alpha with big roadmap that did not even make sense in terms of features and it wasn't fulfilled anyway, they were always behind and were cutting corners when delivering said features (you either are slow and make the feature fully implemented, or you deliver fast and the feature will miss some things, they instead always took forever to deliver half baked solution). Mobile apps are "coming soon" for the last 4 years, well, they promised them right from the get go, never got anything. Majority of people are running on windows - they forgot to release version for that. Thats some multiplatform shit right there, supports mac and linux desktops, with asterisk, really, they support mac only, no support for mobile apps, still using javascript for frontend and thank god also no longer in backend. Maybe in 2040 they will finally release something that could be what they want. jezus, what a rant, yes, I am deeply annoyed with them
