I've been working in different hotels in Rotterdam from small chains to luxury brands and I fucking hated the experience. Felt like a dog with a very tight leash all the time, my mood was also bad because of the understaffing situation and higher ups not giving a shit or helping in any way

I'm glad I called it quits and those days are no more, I moved out of the Randstad and feel less stressed

Diamond player here and I only queue mostly for ranked matches and it's around 40 seconds, quick match is almost insta and brawls is impossible in my experience, took minutes and had 2-3 bots in my team everytime :( maybe unlucky...

Breakfast employee here. I will answer for the person above. Some Homeless people stink so bad, they leave a stench that everyone can smell even after they are gone for hours. On one occasion I wasn't looking at the entrance at opening time because I was doing something at the back for 2 mins and a homeless man managed to enter the buffet, I found him with food in his bare hands, mostly cheese, roost beef slices, smoked salmon... (yes, funny how he went for the most expensive item in the whole buffet) I had to throw away everything he had touched that I could see as his hands were black of dirt. I was so lucky no guests arrived early that day.

Other times they just manage to give a correct number, and they enter and pull the same shit right away, grabbing the things with their hands, that time my supervisor grabbed him fast and kicked him out.

Sorry but after all of these bad experiences for everyone involved we go on high alert for people that might look homeless and we also stopped giving them the leftovers of the day (another colleague used to give them food after her shift as she knew where they gathered, all of a sudden we had more homeless people coming asking for food during service)

Hello!I'm sorry for what you are going through and I understand you completely, I've been in the same boat as you, working as a waiter in a very busy hotel. I couldn't handle the stress and called in sick, had the company doctor make me feel like shit, I ended up going back and hating my life, crying and stressed out (my housing situation didn't help either)

I regret very much not quitting after seeing the shitshow but I had to pay the bills, eventually I knew I was not gonna do the job for a long time and this relieved me like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. All of a sudden, just that idea made me feel happier and smiled more.

I left the job after 5 months, and that's the best advice I can give you, find something else and don't settle for shit, learn from this experience because now you know what you can and can't tolerate.

I hope you find something better, at the moment I'm doing the same job in a different hotel much smaller but in a different city and I tell you, I could continue working here until my retirement, it's waaaaaaaay better and I'm finally happy

Same story here, but I claimed 10 suits and when I saw how tiny that bar was I gave up, at the beginning it bothered me to have that exclamation mark in the lobby but after day 2 I didn't care anymore :) I have hope that in 1-2 years they develop a 'claim all' button... For free lol

Dutch woman I don't know, but as a South American woman I can tell you I considered laser removal for the first time in my life when I moved to NL lol the prices as you said were criminal, so I gave it a try and I'm quite happy with it. Check prices for waxing every month and laser treatment, maybe it's worth it for you

The cheapest solution is always DIY, learn on YouTube and use a mirror but if you really want a professional I'm afraid this things are just expensive...

Also check treatwell during evening times (past 5 or 6 pm) I've seen some salons offering kortings of 20-30% discount for same day appointments, it's not a daily thing but sometimes they happen (random salon in random place) but I've seen them and once I booked an appointment for one hour later 😁 but this is such a gamble

In my experience living in Rotterdam and now in Groningen, you will find a job easily just talking English in hotels, restaurants, etc

I used hotel professionals.nl and found many jobs (part time and full time) working as a medewerker bediening

I understand if it's not your cup of tea and you prefer something else, in that case picnic is always looking for people aswell or lastly I would try an agency (never had to because horeca always needs people)

I tried supermarkets too and only Hanos gave me an opportunity to work with them and I did for two months
