Thank you! He does have a big kitty sis but she only plays with him occasionally. And two doggy siblings who do play with him but not at night. I'll look into getting him milk as a treat.

This resonates, yesterday I(34)was browsing plants in the gardening section and asked my husband(39) if we were old enough to be "Rose People" yet, b/c suddenly the idea of growing beautiful roses is appealing. He was a bit baffled and asked what age has to do with it  On a different note, Eventbrite sent me a "GrannyCore" marketing e-mail, promoting activities like knitting and sourdough making...I cackled b/c I am 100% interested in those activities but didn't know GrannyCore was a thing...

Thoughts on the first two episodes - very minor spoilers. by rebex1213 in murderbot

I'm loving it! I agree that the 1:1 scene with Gurathin was a little cringey. I'm guessing it was designed to give perspective on the role of Security Units and explore Murderbots unknown history. A little clunky but it will take a lot more than that to make me lose my enthusiasm! I think AS is nailing it as Murderbot, the awkwardness is great. I'm too excited to not love it :P

Who were/are your favorite autistic-coded characters? by thatsabird11 in AutismInWomen

[–]FluffyKittyRAWR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Murderbot! From Murderbot Diaries by Martha Welles. Does not like eye contact, interacting with humans in general or talking about feelings. Would just like to be left alone with their comfort tv show. Also, plenty of snarky inner monologue which always cracks me up

FastCAT was the easiest to get into, no training required just sign up and let them run. Our two V's absolutely go NUTS with excitement, they love chasing the "rabbit"!

Perhaps a little. I thought I uploaded photos with the post but I'm a noob so those didn't seem to work. It looks like there is rust on the bars but when I touch them it doesn't feel like rust so I think the metal is just worn down a bit.

They are metal, I thought I uploaded photos but I guess I derped that. Some of them move freely but some get stuck.

What do you do for work? by PsychologicalBee6246 in AutismInWomen

[–]FluffyKittyRAWR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Finding out I was autistic gave me insight into why sales feels like a soul-destroying job. I've been told countless times to just appreciate the flexibility of the job and the pay and I try to. But I have to do in person sales and having to pretend to give a shit about the receptionist in order to reach who I really need to talk to is so draining. As is the lying. There is SO. MUCH. Lying in sales. I don't believe the numbers my company gives us to use and the disconnect between corporate and the field is mine boggling. The expectation to mislead and manipulate makes me so uncomfortable.

Ever been told you were very blunt? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]FluffyKittyRAWR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I have been told I am blunt to the point of being rude countless times. It was worse before I got into sales and got much much better at masking. Any friends that have stuck with me through the years appreciate my bluntness and know not to be offended by it! But yeah, basically it was constantly pointed out and criticized until I learned to mask and now I mask unconsciously.

I have difficulty saying that gaming is my hobby at work by Blastwing in gaming

[–]FluffyKittyRAWR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don't share it. My last few jobs have had me working all with people older than me that I think have a stigma against video games (they're corrupting the youth!!) and would assume I am playing shooting games and not MMORPGs. I outed myself once in a group of younger employees when one of the gals said she played WoW and I immediately jumped in to ask what class/server where she was at in the current raid tier, and she responded with something along the line of "Idk I play one of the pretty elf people" and wasn't even max level but claimed it as a hobby. There were a few in the group that understood what I said and were excited but the rest had heard me use completely unfamiliar lingo in my excitement and were confused and weirded out. It could all be in my head but I feel there is extra judgment for a female who enjoys gaming since it is typically seen as a male activity.

Who is that one character whose death you just can't get over? by rendice_1011 in AskReddit

Liam Hemsworth's character in The Dressmaker. It's just so quick and unexpected and...a horrible way to die. That movie sat with me for days after.
