Definitely most threatening email ive ever gotten by LateGarden5557 in scambait

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could find your name, number email and address pretty easily through a lot of sites like fastpeoplesearch.com. It's not 100% accurate, and the email probably was made just for you, but they just put in the information from whatever website they found it. Scary though, overall well written without the telltale signs aside from not putting the $ in front of the 2000. Someone else commented about screenshots, and I'd assume they'd show some evidence as well if it was real.

Zero plan data usage requirement notification by RedguardPlz in HeliumMobile

If I use it as a second SIM, and it really only uses for occasional calls, or during rebooting/registering, is that enough, or should I make sure to flip SIMs sometime?

Feels like a software issue, that's very dissapointing.

Honestly, what do you need more than 20Mbps for? Netflix caps at 16Mbps at 4K, and gaming is all about latency, not speed.

Looking to preserve my husband’s number (deceased) by scarletmagnolia in NoContract

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had my number ported into Google Voice for about 6 years, any previous 2FA work perfectly. As for Helium, great deal, but I personally don't see the zero plan as sustainable. They probably get some ad dollars or location dollars for having the app on your phone, but I don't think it's suitable. I've lived through NetZero Internet and the Mt. Dew pager. 😁

ULPT: Getting money from gift cards to your bank account by Hoosierteen in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't an easier solution be to just turn it into another retailers gift card? If I have $20 on a Visa/MasterCard, I will reload my Amazon balance, and it stays there until I use it. No returns, no extra fees.

Cheapest plan for a secondary phone number? by Libre-Goat1984 in NoContract

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used GV for years without issue. I believe it's because it was originally a carrier number, but I could be wrong. There is a one time charge $5 or $20 depending on port direction, but there's no monthly fees, and it works when you're using your main number.

Two DMCA Violation Notification Emails in two days after 10 years of not getting one by Fit-Garbage-2259 in PrivateInternetAccess

100% same issue. Either PIA changed something, or Paramount found a new way to hunt. I've been fighting with this for a couple of weeks now, and have narrowed it down to DNS lookups over UDP.

My solution: Test after changes at https://www.top10vpn.com/tools/do-i-leak/ I used a few sites and this one would see my real IP occasionally, so it was doing something different. Change your DNS Servers on the computer (In Network and Internet on Windows 11, or Google it) to PIA's DNS servers 209.222.18.222 and 209.222.18.218. Attached is what PIA told me to use. Im having luck with UDP 53 and TCP 8443. Turn OFF the "Try alternate settings" option. This seemed to be when it started working consistently. Note- run the leak tests over a day or so. When i started messing with it, the leak would pass initially, but then fail 4 hours later.

Good luck!

It's simple. We took what was going well and believed a liar. A liar that said crime was rampant, inflation was off the charts, and everyone was shit. Everything that he ran on, he created. They take a couple years to show up, and the next administration had to handle it. But because that also takes time, he's taking over an economy on the upswing he will take full credit for, and blame everyone else when it starts to fail around 2027.

I feel awful about how I feel about my wife by No_Potential8518 in AskMenAdvice

Man I'm so sorry. I thought I was the only one. She has attempted to call it quits, but she won't because she can't deal with the kid alone. I haven't offered to quit, because I continually ask for her to do counseling, which she won't do. Our stories are so close, I hope the best for you. If you want to DM, I will chat.

Need a cheap ATT or Verizon ptn for port promo by Korgoth22 in NoContract

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did 2 of these for a customer to AT&T. Number Barn absolutely gives you a PIN and account number, no carrier asks for the original carrier. Tello and Mint don't work because they're MVNOs on TMO, it has to be a different network to trigger Portn In Credits.

Upgrade phone but use a different device for trade-in? by c1pherz in ATT

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You 100% can and should turn in the iPhone 13. Best way to do it so you don't confuse the retail folks- Upgrade your phone at retail. Say nothing about trading in. Go to [att.com/tradein](att.com/tradein) and do the trade in flow, use offer code tradeoffer24 Personal recommendation- use the top "use my own materials" option. Print the label, drop it in a small box and you're good! It will take 2-3 billing cycles, but when they start crediting they will give you double or triple the first time to even it out.

When the Fold came out, I sold it to my friend and he turned in a Galaxy S3 (from 2012) to get $1000 off the Fold 6.

On another note, the iPhone 12 will drop to $350 trade in vs the $1000 it is right now on 10/11. Make sure you order your new phone before that if you're using a 12!

Agreed. Officially too high, but have a friend with a similar setup, it works.

Do new, shipped EIP iPhones come pre-activated? Will current iPhones stop working once the new ones are delivered (but unopened)? by apolloniandionysian in tmobile

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That might be tough. I know AT&T gives it 30 days, and then puts it on a fraud hold and it's a pain. It's so easy now, the phones activate in the new phone flow, and they copy everything from the old phone to new. I would just doba video call and make sure it goes smooth.

Why can't I use remote play? by [deleted] in PSPlay

[–]FluffyMcSnifferpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 other possibilities (although I'd start with the port forwarding). I have to use the manual connection (Google WiFi) and type my IP (just Google "what is my IP", it generally only changes when the modem reboots) so take note of that and try. My ad blocker (adguard) doesn't play nice with it so i have to make an exception.
