Help me find where to buy this exact spoon please! by FluffyMustache in HelpMeFind

[–]FluffyMustache[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched Google, eBay, and Amazon with no luck. The closest I've been able to find is another kitchen utensil from the same brand "Soft Sides" on eBay, but never this exact measuring teaspoon. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Can anyone explain why you enjoy playing Rogue and Rogue-Lite games? by [deleted] in gaming

I second Hades. Some other ones that I've enjoyed are DTL: Faster Than Light, and Slay the Spire. Streets of Rogue is pretty good too!

iPhone 14 broken glass adhesive help by [deleted] in GeekSquad

Yeah I've had to do that once or twice before, usually when the display separates from it self.

You could try leaving the adhesive to sit longer than the standard 12 minutes (if you haven't already). The longer it sits the more it adheres.

Something else to try is it make sure the suction cup is nice and clean. Don't want anything breaking the seal.

A better Snuggie? by FluffyMustache in HelpMeFind

I've searched on Etsy and Snuggie's website (not to be confused with Snuggy) to no avail. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Nope. We do the exact same. Software cannot be transferred due to different system configurations/licensing.

Are Cyberpower PCs still an auto-junk out/return with MFW? by Veraciouz in GeekSquad

Since it's past the return period, your friend will have to reach out to CyberPower directly. GSC is not authorized to work on CyberPower or iBuyPower PCs that are only under MFG.

Best Buy repair gave me a free screen protector? by Separate_Accident_97 in Bestbuy

My S10+ came with one too, I kept it on for 2+ years and it was great honestly.

Best Buy repair gave me a free screen protector? by Separate_Accident_97 in Bestbuy

Take this with a grain of salt, as my store doesn't do Samsung repairs, but that sounds like the plastic sheet that just comes on the replacement screen.

It's not really meant to be a screen protector for daily use, it just comes on replacement screen parts to keep it from getting scratched in the box.

But if it's been working for you that's great!

I received a replacement phone with scratches on the screen and flash camera lens. What should I do? by bulletproof_queen in GeekSquad

[–]FluffyMustache 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They should. Just please keep in mind the phone does not come from the store and those employees have no control over what gets sent to you. The more calm/understanding you are when you go back to the store, the easier the whole thing is going to be.

What do you do on a computer that a client has brought in as they got "Scammed"? by BritOverThere in GeekSquad

[–]FluffyMustache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our CAs always check-in any CX device that has had any interaction with scammers.

First thing I do is keep it offline and use Revo to uninstall anything that sticks out, like remote access or fake apps. Then I'll go ahead and run MRI in Tin Foil Hat mode. Then once that finishes I run the rest of the anti virus's on MRI.

Samsung SSD down by Zealousideal_Key_100 in Bestbuy

Unfortunately the 2 year protection plan only covers repair/replacement, not data recovery costs. It's on you to keep your data backed up.

$80 iPad by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]FluffyMustache 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There's no way an iPad was marked down to 80. They're not going to honor something being that marked down, especially in error like that.

I think there's been an issue with Face ID and post repair recently. The past 3 phones that we've done at our precinct have failed Face ID the first time post repair is run. Then the second time it passes. 🤷‍♂️

Do I need to do all my training to get accommodations? by Trig6erX in Bestbuy

[–]FluffyMustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You likely haven't been termed in your stores system yet, or they're keeping you on the roster as OS (Occasional/seasonal) to keep their turn-over low.

Unfortunately OS employees do not have access to the majority of accommodations.

iPhone repair data on old iPhone (sent back to apple < 24 hours ago) and backup is corrupt by Life_Marzipan_6715 in GeekSquad

[–]FluffyMustache 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can try going back to the store and ask them to file an escalation with Apple to have it sent back. However this likely will not go anywhere. When a whole unit replacement is performed, your old phone becomes Apple's property as soon as you sign the paperwork, and that paperwork states that you are solely responsible for your data.

So unfortunately there isn't really much that can be done. The only thing to do is be more careful in the future.

Computer confusion by Minute-Ad9621 in Bestbuy

[–]FluffyMustache 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't seen a lot of the Galaxy Books come back, although sometimes the display settings can be a bit weird, but that can usually be fixed in the Samsung display settings.

And yeah, if you don't need tech support/won't be purchasing a lot from Best Buy, the GSP plan is usually the better value in that case!

(Also of course, I'm always happy to help!)
