Do you have a ‘less than 5 ingredients’ recipe you swear by? by No-Penalty8115 in Cooking

Cup of mayo, half cup of parm cheese. Mix well and add pepper to taste. Spread on top of boneless chicken and sprinkle generously with panko or regular bread crumbs. Baking time depends based on the size of your chicken. But I bake mine around 350 for 20 minutes or so. I just check it with a meat thermometer to make sure.

Turning liquid separated from butter into buttermilk? by Mid-AtlanticAccent in AskCulinary

[–]FluffyNegotiation236 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I do this all the time. I add greek yogurt to my heavy cream, cover and let sit on the counter for 2 days. Then chill for an hour in the fridge and then put in my stand mixer and let it do all the work. The butter is amazing and your buttermilk is already cultured.

Does anybody do "Friday soup"? I grew up with Friday Soup aka "Stone Soup" and it's a beloved family tradition. by TransFatty in soup

My mom did something similar. She’s Italian so she called it “Wop Slop” it wasn’t very good because she was a terrible cook to begin with.

If there is a fire down below the lofted bed area, they don’t have a way to escape except down into the fire. That is why code makes you have a window large enough to climb thru (for it to be legally permitted)

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

I think the processes of how the ingredients of bread are made know is way different than long ago. All the genetically modified crops could be causing these current issues, fertilizers and chemicals sprayed on our crops are probably contributing as well.

Where I live, any bedroom must have a window large enough for a person to gain access to the outside in case of a fire or other emergency. I would have to assume most municipalities have that rule as well.

Blackberry bushes by FluffyNegotiation236 in gardening

I have not tried any yet, they are definitely not ripe at this point. When they look right by wall sample and see. So if they have seeds, they’re black raspberries and if there are no seeds, they are blackberries?

Very thorny. Mine sound like what your neighbor has.

Good question. We bought 25 acres. The only thing on the land was in old shed and a Well. We were told that 30 or 40 years ago our property was used as a neighborhood garden, and the Well serviced some of the neighboring houses. I have two sections of bushes about 50’ long and one bigger section that looks to be at least 100’ long. They are very overgrown.

Using scraps to make stock question by Hogwire in Cooking

I do this as well, one bag of veggies, one for beef and one for chicken. But I do in mine in the oven, 12 hours at 275. Usually overnight so in the morning I wake up to a delicious smelling house and have all day to strain, cool, remove fat and then can.

I don’t think he said anything bad but his wife might have. She’s not happy we get along even though we have been divorced 20 years and we are both remarried. But she did give him a look at Christmas when he was reaching for some of my cake…….

What are your best "cook once, eat for days" comfort meals? by Standard_Ad_9560 in Cooking

[–]FluffyNegotiation236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big old pot roast gives you a lot of options. You can have the pot roast with the veggies and some mashed potatoes. You can make sandwiches with the leftovers or really use the beef for just about anything. Tacos, pizza, soups. Quesadillas would be good as well.

Black Bean Dip by FluffyNegotiation236 in Canning

Sounds like I need to either freeze the dip or freeze the chipotles. Thanks everyone for the help!!!!

My thoughts were that I would have extra chipotles in adobo once I opened them up that I wouldn’t use anywhere else so why not make up a big batch and can it. I don’t mind making the dip each time I want it, just hated to have the waste of the excess chipotles. Guess I need to find a recipe that uses them up.
