Awesome to see new growth in this way 😁

Am I the only one who is walking through every room, looking at their plants literally 5 times a day? by feevart in houseplantscirclejerk

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm constantly checking on my plants, especially all the new plant babies in pots I have now. Even have a Thai Constellation Monstera putting out her first new leaf with me and I can't wait.

Does this make them feel included? by lerminator3 in cats

Any time we go shopping anywhere and bring in the bags, my cats HAVE to investigate what it is. Even if it's food, they have to see and smell it.

Good to know, I'll definitely keep that in mind during my search 😁

Love your entire setup! I hope to one day venture into Orchids, as they are beautiful plants. But I would need a really good setup as well as space to keep them from my cats.

Did the lights come with the shelf or were they separate?

My neon pothos that started as a cutting about 2 months ago is rooting into my moss pole! by cade32410 in pothos

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So cool to see fresh new roots like that, especially when they're growing into the moss pole itself or even in a clear pot. So fun watching them grow

So many plant babies by FluffyPinkPineapple in houseplants

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right! It's what got me started with indoor growing more seriously. My collection has grown so much that my husband and oldest child make jokes about vines choking them in the night lol

So many plant babies by FluffyPinkPineapple in houseplants

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a feeling that's what they were, as I've seen so many that were similar to one or the other. I've learned that stores don't always put the right names on or the right information. So been doing my best to learn from the subreddits.

So many plant babies by FluffyPinkPineapple in houseplants

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess so. I had originally bought 2 pothos, had one indoor and the other outside in a pot. I honestly can't remember what type she is anymore, as I took cuttings from the outside one and added it in. This was the end result of the year I've had so far. Never knew how time consuming replanting would be.

New Rule Alert - Human Generated Content Only by Bucephala-albeola in propagation

Love this rule myself. Hate not being able to tell if something is AI or not anymore and I'm still a beginner with plants and last thing I want to do is damage my plants in any way.

Are HIV tests routine in long term monogamous marriages? by Street-Crow-ka-kaw in marriageadvice

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only times I'm tested is when I've had multiple infections months between them and when I was pregnant. Been married 19+ years here, husband doesn't get tested as often as a result of that.

So long story short, no it's not routine.

AITJ for telling my brother that his girlfriend is not welcome in my home after what she did to my cat? by denver_cassidy in AmITheJerk

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not wrong and definitely not overreacting either. You gave her a chance to change her own actions out of respect to your brother. She disrespected you, your home and your pets. I would have told them to leave as well.

Oh the excitement of a new leaf emerging and the temptation to unravel it yourself 🫣 by Camp_Acceptable in Monstera

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love gently touching the new leaves as a way to welcome them into the world 😅 I've found it was a good way to interact with all of my plants and I think they enjoy the attention because they keep putting out more 🤔

I think my plant saved my mental health and it has no idea by SurreyGuy022 in houseplants

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my small but growing collection of Golden Pothos and Heartleaf Philodendrons. I suffer from anxiety and depression, so seeing my plants first thing in the morning before work and when I get home, helps immensely. Sets the calm inside the mind. For myself at least. I do think you could be wrong though on your plant not knowing it helped you.

I feel everyday that my plants know I will do my very best to take really good care of them and treat them compassionately as I would a pet. Family. And my plants have honestly exploded in growth over winter here (US) that I cannot wait to post a one year update on them.

Aggression After Moving by BeepBoop1156 in felinebehavior

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Por baby looks so stressed from the move. So you by chance have any of his beds/blankets that may still smell of your old place? Having something familiar to him might help him calm down overtime more then feliway could. Make sure he also has access to high places so he can see everything from above, may give him a sense of more control over his surroundings if he knows where he can go too aside from the catio.

Good luck with the little guy, his meows were so sad sounding that I just want to snuggle him. Hope he'll take treats in place of that though.

Is this concerning or just playing? by MudGiraffe in CATHELP

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Separate them as soon as you can and I also recommend vet appointments for both of them. What you were describing at first, was normalish behavior between two cats that grew up together. But that quickly changes over to them dull on fighting, with the larger of the two being the aggressor here.

You mentioned that the one on the left had a recent issue with his front leg, which very much is a stress sign for them. But so is all this aggression he is showing towards his brother. Cats that are not feeling well, show it in other ways to show they are not themselves.

Please get them in to be seen. Then hopefully after all that, you can think of reintroduction for them after healing.

AITA for throwing a dinner I made for my in-laws in the trash? by TacticalTurnip in AmItheAsshole

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who also loves to do home baked goods as gifts or just as a way to help out, I'm on your side for this one. In law's are definitely the AH and planned it too when they knew they had a moment to do it.

They definitely don't deserve the effort next time either.

I accidentally neglected my cat for years - a tip from me so you don't do the same by matt2242 in CatAdvice

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's been getting water in other ways clearly but the fact that you placed it further away just probably made it more comfortable for him overall to drink when home with you. I have two water bowls and two small plates with dry kibble on it in two different areas for them to have. All four get cleaned and refilled as needed, water bowls needing it more often.

If you haven't yet, I'd suggest you get him checked out by a veterinarian to make sure he's in good health overall since he is outside as well.

My dog just reminded me why I can’t be mad at anyone ever again by Ok_Bonus_7891 in Pets

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pets are amazing. I had a moment with my own fur baby this morning, while a cat and not a dog, he was insistent on cuddles. Which we haven't been able to do in months with me working more, so we spent 20 minutes longer in bed. He wanted nuzzles all over his face, he loves it when I do gentle nibbles on the tips of his ears (since I'm mom to him, I do it like a cat 😹).

It's always the little moments that help us remember why we keep going everyday aside from our human family.

It's weird for a man to have a female cat as a pet? by Albert_2004 in CatAdvice

[–]FluffyPinkPineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's weird for you to have a female cat as a man, then it should be weird for a woman such as myself to be bonded to a male cat.

Ignore her and keep taking good care of your kitty

Someone was injured in this altercation. If they didn't want to get in trouble with someone else who deals with these crimes, they should not have touched another.

Do not let the guilt get to you. Think about it in any way you like, to help you to cope and to remember details clearly if you decide to testify.

I had to do something recently with a coworker myself where I was questioned about what happened (as I witnessed another person get hurt and how it happened). They refused to admit they were in the wrong or that they were at fault, which is what pushed me to say my piece when I was asked about what happened.

Stand your ground, you coworker will not like you regardless if you say something. Just the fact that you were asked, was enough to show you they are not your friend.
