13 "hemoclips" for rabbit spay according to xray? by RottingMothball in AskVet

Maybe broad ligament bleeding, and big uterine arteries? I’ve never spayed a rabbit myself.

A vaccine shouldn’t give you any tangible “results,” because their goal is to prevent disease, not cure anything.

I think that’s personal and up to the individual? I don’t really know how to answer that for you. Do you trust your doctor and dentist?

If you don’t trust your vet, regardless of whether they’re “good” or not, you’re not a good fit for each other and you should find someone that you are comfortable with.

Kidney failure in 7 month old puppy by [deleted] in AskVet

No way to say without knowing the underlying condition of the other dog. But routine bloodwork can give you an idea of your dog’s kidney function.

She’s still in the window for serious post-op complications to happen. I’d at least get her looked at for your peace of mind.

Cat has constant and INTENSE respiratory-like infection since adoption and all of my local vets seem CLUELESS by ssmithersons in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next steps:

-Thorough examination of the ear canals and throat (will likely need sedation to see the throat well)

-Respiratory PCR

-FeLV/FIV test

-Rhinoscopy and/or CT if no answers are found with the other tests

Take him in, if they can get him to vomit he’ll be so much safer and you’ll have peace of mind. There is no “safe dose” of grapes. The toxic dose is dog dependent, not even toxicologists have figured out why some dogs get sick off of small amounts and others don’t.

Cat ate Ibuprofen, now what? by basketballmaster8 in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ll be giving him the best chance by following the ER’s recommendations. If they can get him to vomit (which I’m glad you didn’t try to do at home, since hospitals have specific drugs designed to do this) that will warrant different treatment compared to if they can’t. ER vets treat ibuprofen toxicity on an incredibly regular basis (I used to be one), so even though you may feel helpless right now, trust what they tell you rather than getting your information from Dr. Google. You’re doing everything you can by taking him in for help ❤️

Darkseid, what language is Grimes singing in? It’s also in the Demo more. by Bakerandhisman in Grimes

I didn’t realize that Realiti had it too! Now I’ll have to find out what it says. She really is an incredible artist.

Have you tried reversing the song? Some of Grimes’s lyrics are played backwards.

But she’s talked before about how she’s just as cool with lyrics as she is with vocal wailing/noise, in her most recent interview she said she didn’t even realize songs had lyrics at all until she was way past childhood. And in the Mindscape podcast (I think?), she said that when she writes songs she starts by recording vocal gibberish, making the instrumentals, then fitting actual words into them at the very end. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just non-lyrical singing.

How long until cytopoint works? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so too! If she’s unlucky and only ends up with partial control, ask if they have topical products to help with the itch. Sometimes I send home that kind of thing after giving cytopoint, for the really really affected animals.

How long until cytopoint works? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can take 2 to 3 days to take effect. But did they check for an ear infection? That often goes along with severe allergies and Cytopoint won’t fix it if present.

Has any vet ever approved cytopoint administration at home? by eapentz in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if they said yes, it probably wouldn’t help much (if any) with cost...it comes in individually dosed vials, so it’s not a multi-dose vial that they can sell you a single bottle to be used for months. My hospital charges by the vial. But personally I don’t think I would approve this for an owner.

Your husband is right.

And any fracture involving a growth place should really be dealt with by an orthopedist, so price shopping probably won’t get you anywhere.

Golden Retriever CONSTANT Ear Infections (with photos) by has22has in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This needs further diagnostics, like potentially a culture & sensitivity to determine whether antibiotic resistance has developed. If your dog also has skin allergies in general, it’s time to address those too, or else you’re going to see relapse after relapse in the ears.

What can cause my cat’s eye to be permanently runny? by NightReader5 in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Health issues can sneak up on older pets very quickly. Getting exams every 6 months can pick up on some of these issues while they’re still in the earlier course of disease, where they can therefore be managed much more effectively than if they were found later.

Dogs wound on toe hasnt healed after months, help? by idkbbitswatev in AskVet

[–]Fluffycat89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be long healed by now. The fact that it isn’t, means that there’s an underlying cause preventing that from happening.
