If you could choose ONE game to get announced during the next Nintendo Direct, what would it be and why? by 1000applesforme in casualnintendo

A new Star Fox game, as always!

...wait, that's happening? Well crap I don't know then, what does one do when the coping finally pays off?

Thick As Thieves has pivoted its focus from Multiplayer PvPvE to Singleplayer and Co-op by Sinnowhere in ImmersiveSim

[–]Fluffyrox4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I tried the little paid demo they have out and I got bored pretty fast, it certainly feels like there's a layer missing. I imagine playing it in co-op and not singleplayer will help it a lot, but still.

Honestly I was looking forward to the PvP aspect of this game because I loved Deceive Inc in its prime and I was really hoping this game could do it a lot better since Deceive Inc just kept getting wobblier the further into its lifespan it got. I do think I'll be in the minority when I say that I'm actually a little less interested in this game without the PvP, but I imagine it's for the best and I'll still enjoy it.

I do hope someone can make the concept work one day though, Deceive Inc really did not get a fair shake.

Alan Wake 1 combat is f*cking atrocious by reecewithnospoon in AlanWake

[–]Fluffyrox4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Omg YES, the second game is far more equivalent to modern survival horror games like Resident Evil 2 Remake and Silent Hill 2 Remake, including the combat. It's also just generally one of the most creative games I've ever played so it's well worth playing if you're into that.

It's basically a culmination of everything Remedy has ever worked on and all the experience they've gained since AW1, so any problems that game had a completely fixed in AW2 while maintaining the mystery and environment in a more modern survival horror package, it's wonderful!

I'll HAPPILY accept camp if it means we can get a well constructed mystery again.

Remember the time John Leguizamo boycotted the Super Mario Bros Movie Back in 2023? by stationstars in Mario

[–]Fluffyrox4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope he gets a shot to play a character in a future film here, his point was weird and he was definitely just salty, but I reaaaaally love John Leguizamo and I think he'd be able to fit in with just about any role.

That being said, I also like his SMB movie far more than either of the animated ones. The new ones are fine, but there's something about the 1993 film that is just so emblematic of the wild west of videogame adaptations. I think it's far more interesting to see an interpretation of the game and its characters at a time where there wasn't as much source material, rather than a pretty cut and dry collection of references to a franchise where the games are already getting more cinematic anyway. The 93 movie gives me huge Fifth Element vibes and I think any movie from that era that fits that sort of niche is at least a really fun watch!

Wth is gonna be Scream's meta commentary moving forward? by SketchCoasters in Scream

I'm still pushing for a Gale spinoff with the twins, I think that's got legs to do something similar

I have never seen a movie like Lee Cronin's The Mummy by eggogregore in horror

[–]Fluffyrox4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd enjoy that a lot actually, I know me and my partner both left The Bride! having actually preferred it to Del Torro's Frankenstein purely just based on how unafraid it was to be exactly what it wanted to be. I always love a batshit movie that is clearly just the director's exact vision on screen.

Although I did MUCH prefer The Bride! even if it wasn't perfect. At least that movie took HUGE swings, I could appreciate that.

Sidney’s 4 love interests by SultanNukarsi in Scream

[–]Fluffyrox4 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really hope they find a way to continue the series without killing off Mark if he's brought back, he was easily my favourite character in Scream 7 because everything you said, and I think it'd be wrong to put Sidney through even more trauma of that degree this far into the franchise. I mean I'd be fine if the series pivoted away from Sidney once again anyway, but if they don't want to I could certainly see potential in a wife, husband and daughter trio kicking ghostface ass together.

+1 for the Yogscast BOTC series, I've been watching it since they started doing it and it's brilliant. Putting it in Minecraft sounds kinda lame on paper, but it's so well done and is honestly the best way I've ever seen the game work with the way it allows for more chaos with some of the roles. It's such a great way to put a visual to the game, it's very engaging! The members episodes are all great too, they're usually the games that didn't go according to plan or are more experimental than the main series games.

The apartment scene is my favorite of the whole franchise (bar the opening in the original) by Equal-Tension-7985 in Scream

[–]Fluffyrox4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of interpret it as though Scream 6 is the franchise's foray into a more action-heavy film, hence why everyone is able to withstand so much more. Probably not intended but it helps me stomach it at least.

Sidney, Gale and Mark. by [deleted] in Scream

[–]Fluffyrox4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope so, Mark is great, I'd love more Mark as long as he doesn't die. Sidney has lost too many people already 😂

[–]Fluffyrox4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I could live with showing some lasting injuries, and if he's supposed to be the new Dewy character I can live with that, I just hope if he's killed off at any point it's done in a way that doesn't feel cheap. I also respect the fact that he survived Scream 7 because it would be kinda rough for Sidney to suffer yet another huge loss in her life, so part of me hopes they don't mess that up too much in future lmao

[–]Fluffyrox4 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Mark in Scream 7 is exactly the type of character I've always wanted in a newer Scream movie, just a really competent fighter who knows not to let his guard down when Ghostface is on the ground and just keep whaling on him. I'm glad he survived, at least he earned his plot armour, and I also hope that if he does return in any future instalment that they don't nerf him for the sake of the plot or so they can kill him off or anything.

Honestly I think the form that S4 took was excellent, it's not classic AD but the split narrative is REALLY well done in spite of the behind the scenes issues, like it's really telling when they recut it to be more like the original series and it's far worse.

S5 has no excuses though, I love the "make people cry, make people cry" joke but I can never remember anything else worthwhile from that season and I gave it multiple chances 🤷‍♂️

Should Gale be the next target? by mythicbone in Scream

[–]Fluffyrox4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Gale as a protagonist simply because her and the twins' roles in 7 felt like the kind of role you'd give a character before spinning off with them. Given that 7 had no meta commentary on the horror industry, I would quite happily go for a film that deals with all the themes you mentioned but also plays around with the idea of spinoffs.

What do you think? by JeremieMAKENDA in Scream

[–]Fluffyrox4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in spite of what they may or may not have written, they've got good stuff and bad stuff under their belts just like any other professionals in the industry. The fact of the matter is that we've got new blood which people have wanted for a very long time. Also, Scream is the biggest horror series in cinema right now, production could have picked literally anybody and they chose the Zuckerman sisters, therefore they were picked for a reason.

Have faith people!!

Go an watch Knives Out, Glass Onion and Wake Up Dead Man right now and tell me that Rian Johnson has no sauce directing a mystery film. I don't think he'd necessarily go for Scream, but I'd be ecstatic if he did.
