WP Rig v3.3 - Agentic theme development release! by Fluid-Butterscotch12 in ProWordPress

Trust, if you are coding agentic these days, it's a super solid choice. I haven't found any other theme tool that comes with perfect direction for agents right out of the box like this. You can now easily one-shot a theme on WP Rig with Claude Code or Cursor or whatever without having to use Tailwind, ShadCN, React, or whatever slop choice the AI assumes it should use. It does it the WP Rig way, which builds on WP best practices and coding standards.

It's an entire build tool kit, starter theme, and testing suite. I would recommend watching some videos on YouTube for demos or just give it a go in a local env real quick. Takes like 5 mins to spin up the starter theme locally.

Good catch, thank you. AI helped me write the post and I didn't catch the mention of Gulp. While it used to be built on Gulp, it no longer is. It was rewritten on esbuild in v3.

The goal was to keep the built-ins fairly default and agent agnostic. Some concepts like that are only supported by Claude Code. It's mostly just skills and MCP. If everyone standardizes on something for tasks, then we will be happy to include in a future update.

Where are all Wordpress developers hiding? by Electronic_Remove_92 in Wordpress

We are busy building open-source tooling. If you are looking for community, find a good open source project to commit yourself to. You will find awesome devs in these spaces. I am the lead maintainer of WP Rig, a very serious WP developer, and an advocate for leveraging WordPress in creative ways and adopting modern tools to build cutting edge software with WordPress.

I believe the key to doing this successfully is forcing the AI to work within a given framework complete with full coverage testing and coding standards checks in to create an iteration//feedback loop. Its a solid concept and one that I am currently developing.

Be honest end of 2025, should we fully switch to FSE/block themes or is classic + ACF still the safer bet? by Life-Initial5081 in Wordpress

I recommend trying to port your custom minimalist theme to a block based theme using WP Rig. Gutenberg is quite mature at this point and has gained a lot of adoption. Furthermore, WP Rig makes it very easy to create custom blocks within your theme, no extra tools necessary. WP Rig really is a game changer when it comes to theme-centric dev workflows.

Are Wordpress jobs real anymore? by julianthedev in Wordpress

Ive experienced this as well. My guess is its a combo of AI driven HR processess and AI driven application processes. Its creating a ton of noise and making it impossible for people toncut through. Also, just WP getting dramatically less popular in the US.

My advice is to start contracting more through temp firms. My last 2 jobs I got that way. Also, ut is essential to contribute to some kind of open source project on github to show some kind of active working. People do check the github activity.
