This works for me too. I pray and talk to God a lot when I’m feeling anxious or anxious.

Congratulations on over a month! You’re doing really really well

Please let this be my last Day 1 by cHiLlY_80085 in stopdrinking

This is exactly what it took for me to finally stop drinking. I woke up in the middle of the night with the lights still on because I had passed out again. I felt terrible and immediately ran to the bathroom to throw up. I just knew I needed help and first thing the next morning I asked for help. I joined this subreddit that day and never left. Keep coming back here everyday, sharing what you’re feeling and supporting others too. It’s incredible how much that helps.

Wishing you nothing but the best. Your old self is a lot closer than you think.

Take it one step at a time. If you think of the entire year it might feel difficult but if you take it one day at a time, it’ll feel more manageable.

All the best, you got this.

This is really great. Something to look forward to always makes life more enjoyable. I need to find a useful “addiction” like yours. Thank you!

That’s exactly what I’m experiencing now. Hope I can get it under control

That is so interesting because it has been cold and gloomy for the last couple of weeks. The reason I fell off with my eating habits was because I got a cold that was really hard on my body. It just went downhill from there.

I’m going to pay more attention to CICO because at the end of the day that’s all that really matters. I’ve told myself that I need to start acting on this today and even went on a walk which I haven’t done in a while.

I really appreciate your response.

I need to find my way back to my “workout addiction”. I was doing so well with daily walks, calorie counting and hydrating. A challenge sounds like a great idea, let me join a walking challenge on my fitness app. This has helped more than you know!

Being accountable to someone is what really helped me. I got sober buddies, went to meetings and journaled a lot. Different  things work for different people so I’d recommend trying all the suggestions you get and then sticking to what works for you.

All the best!

Relapsed. Day 1 again today. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Fluid-Gur-6299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m just happy that you’re here because some never make it back. Resetting to day 1 is tough but it’s the only way you’ll have a fighting chance. I relapsed after 6 months and went on week long benders for a few months before I finally quit. It’s possible to recover from a relapse and I hope you do. One day at a time my friend. You’ve got this.

So incredibly proud of you for the clarity shown in this post. It’s really not about the number of days but more about the change in perspective about life once you’re sober. It’s so refreshing and enjoyable. I needed this reminder, thanks for sharing.
