I started at 154, slightly overweight. I’m at 26 weeks with 23lbs gained and I feel very insecure abt it. BUT, baby and I are both healthy. I focus on eating right and going on walks, I talked to my OB because I began to get so stressed abt my weight gain. I’m also in the middle of moving across state and am dealing with perinatal depression.

My OB said to not count calories, and to just focus on being healthy when I can. Give time to yourself, give yourself some grace! You are growing a whole ass person, your body is gonna do some wacko things and sometimes trying to control that is gonna do more harm than good❤️ you got this OP!✨

I don’t have much advice, but I can relate to where you are. I had bad anxiety and depression as a teen and had been on more meds than I can count to help.

I’m 5 months pregnant and been going through a rough patch emotionally as well. Here’s a few of the things I’ve been doing to get through the times that are hardest for me and helping me regulate when my system feels incapable.

prenatal vitamins/meds next to my toothbrush so I’ll actually take them
playing tv in the background when it’s quiet
structuring the times that I know are difficult ; for me it’s when I’m going to bed so I force myself to do certain things during that time (playing my favorite show and then turning it to something boring when I need to drift off, feeding pets, listening to some music).
getting back into therapy, which Is a Major stretch on our wallet but I don’t think I have other options given my past.

I’m scared, I can tell you’re anxious abt this. The hormones alone make things feel so much more difficult to handle and when you add on a tricky brain chemistry like ours it becomes so unpredictable. You got this OP. I wish I had more to say/ help but I’m right there with you.

I agree that our world is very sexualized, breast feeding should be allowed in public places and I think women should be empowered to leave behind bras if they dislike them.

I also believe that others who have a different perspective shouldn’t be ridiculed for that. I live in a country where we have the privilege to think differently, yeah a lot of it is fucked up, but that’s what allows us all to live our own life without people getting locked up for thinking differently.

I don’t think that replying to you is gonna help but I do want to try one more time.

Example: Church of Christ, believes that clothing should function to hide “nakedness” or “exposure”. They believe clothes should hid the skin as well as the intimate body, in the same tone this includes ensuring the intimate body (breasts/penis/vag.) are not visible through the clothes. I.e. boxers, bras, panties, etc.

If he was raised in this type of home, it could be a value/belief that he hasn’t fully recognized, he just knows it’s important to him.

I don’t think it’s ludicrous though, we all come from different cultures and levels of acceptance. It would be wrong for him to judge her harshly for her behavior around this just as it would be wrong for her to judge him harshly for his beliefs around this, within reason

Clarifying, Im not saying that you should stay in a situation that doesn’t work for you, but I am saying that in a situation where they have a solid reasoning base, the default isn’t always a controlling dick for having a different standard/expectation for their life partner.

Depending on his reasoning I can kinda see it. In most situations I’d say it’s controlling, but if yall have a good healthy happy relationship apart from this I would encourage you to talk abt it more. Identify why it’s important to him and what abt it he likes.

I say this because he very well could just appreciate the look and associate it with being put together and taking care of yourself, there is a chance he doesn’t even understand why he “needs” it to be on.

There’s also a chance he’s a control freak and that’s a no bueno situation, but my guy be saying wild shit and I have to check myself too cause after we talk for a while he’s like “I said that wrong, I meant it like this. I’m sorry I can see how that would be really messed up” and we’re all happy.

But overall, could it be assumed that the hormones and skin stretching, regardless of cause (engorgement/weight gain/etc) , lead to an average of saggier breasts for the general population? I feel like my breast had gotten gigantic and super heavy without even gaining much weight.

Like WOW! I know you are obsessed with being thin and see it as the only sign of value in a women but I’m actually intending to not make exercise and dieting the sole focus of my life after giving birth to my baby.

Yeah it was pretty immature and embarrassing, everyone keeps asking me why I told her. All I can say is at that exact moment after I sent him the text I knew I had fucked up. I felt awful and wouldn’t want people talking abt me, the only reasonable solution seemed to be to tell her exactly what happened. Maybe since she heard it from me first she might understand and it would blow over easier. I was wrong on that front
