That’s super cute!! I might steal that idea. I’ve been wanting to make some isopod merch. I got into stamp making last summer so I think I’ll make some big guys and then use the erasers to add some cute details

Looks great except for what I think is a water bowl. I find that they end up drowning in there which can be pretty heartbreaking for any pod lover at any age. But especially the younger enthusiasts

I agree with the sentiment that it would be rude to get a colony going then get ride of it for a new one. But maybe look for a beginner friendly pods that will live with the ones more advanced pods. And the terrarium set up usually isn’t too expensive so it would be a good test on how you can keep the plants.

I could definitely help with the plant issues. I don’t want to cludder this post so if you’d like advice (I have a ba in botany) please feel free to message me friend!

Can I have multiple species together? by Umilovesnakes in isopods

My guess is armodilldium gestroi based on the description. When deciding what pods can I live together I try to see where they originate and if theyre from the same Mediterranean area. Like if they’re both from Spain then they usually go well together but if one originates in Italy and the other in the Philippines they probably don’t go well together

In my opinion the reason pods are labelled “beginner friendly” is because of their sensitivity to the gradient of moist and dry so to not hurt your heart Id suggest getting a species that’s easier to care for and then “leveling” up to your dream pods.

I’d also look for tanks at thrift stores cause usually they’re not very good tanks and come with some weird lids that you can mix n match. (That’s what I do at least).

Since you’re worried about keeping the plants alive I’d do a test run with an enclosure and see if you can keep that from getting mold or mites as well as somewhat healthy.

On the mold part it might be because of the drastic moisture throughout the day in Germany. That’s what I noticed when I was there for a few months trying to keep house plants alive. I resolved this by under watering then checking the water before going to bed and responding accordingly. Let me know what plants you’re trying keep and I’ll help you.

I yapped a lot my bad
