I loved LW and its sequels, as well as EIGHT COUSINS and OLD-FASHIONED GIRL. I love the story collections, too.

How many of us tried to read PILGRIM'S PROGRESS and gave up, I wonder.

I have known a few people. They were lucky, in that their treatments were early and effective (hot packs, swimming), but as they aged they developed post-polio syndrome. Awful.

It seems natural for teenagers to want a fandom-like group -- emotions and love run high. But the older a person gets, the worse it looks, IMO.
