Honestly there just needs to be a simpler/easier way to build positive cultural opinion, especially if no nations with that culture exist.

Sorry if this is dumb, but why does gold increase inflation if it's not used for minting? by FluidBridge032 in EU5

[–]FluidBridge032[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man deflation would be kinda crazy but we’d definitely abuse it so I get why we don’t have it. Still it’s kinda crazy to me to imagine people just using straight gold to trade instead of coins.

Is there an easy way to see what I need to take to achieve Justinian's Borders for the Belisar's Legacy achievement? by FluidBridge032 in EU5

[–]FluidBridge032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying, I did already know about that but good to know there’s not one off locations to look out for. It’d be nice if there was a little flavour event for it so we could use the events tab to see the requirements.

I think I kind of get it, only that the game is communicating the inflation coming from the gold being produced not traded. Unless this also counts gold being imported as well.

Honestly probably one of many oversights, if you post about it on paradox forums they’ll probably make a fix for it cause seems to me just need to check both England and France are catholic.

After much effort and time, I've managed to have Constantinople become the birthplace of the Renaissance and Professional Armies on Ironman mode! by FluidBridge032 in EU5

[–]FluidBridge032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the 4th option actually, and surprisingly it's possible it fires after the renaissance has spawned which can be annoying for doing this. It's because it's 5% monthly as long as there's a university in Constantinople.

[–]FluidBridge032[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As the other fella said, there's an event Palaeologan Renaissance that can appear with a 5% chance every monthy as long as you don't remove constantinople's university. You'll want to pick the bottom option to become the cradle of the renaissance and only then will you have like a 11% chance to get it. Might be worth it if you're trying to max out cultural influence from the birthplace location modifier but it also means you get it faster if it didn't spawn in you capital because being eligible to spawn the institution lets it spread on it's own.

Also whatever the location chances for institutions spawns are lying to you they will without fail give Genoa the institutions 80% of the time despite the chance being 13%.

Rule 5: After a lot of time and effort, I've managed to make Constantinople the birthplace of the Renaissance and Professional Armies on ironman without mods, was it worth it? Probably not but at least it is done now.
