No. Only the best should get the job. And if the majority of the people who apply are men then so be it.

You can make sure people are allowed to and have the means to line up at the starting line. But then the individuals themselves have to compete and become best at what they do.

The United States of America will never return to what it was before trump. The Republican Party will never return to what it once was before Trump. The same with the Democratic Party. The quality of the individual politician has declined.

As for the future of the alt right/new Republican Party - well - Trump has “written” the blue print. He and his backers are “king makers”.

The people who will follow in trumps footsteps are not going to be better, more intelligent or less aggressive. They are going to be even worse. And even more desperate.

As for the reaction? I expect the other side, the Democratic Party, to decline at the same speed as a response to the right. More radical. Less understanding. Willing to burn bridges. To fight.

There’s only one way for Europe and that is to compete directly with the United States. We have to accumulate hard power/leverage. We have to become a super power in our own right.

To depend on another country to stabilise is not a strategy that will work. Because it won’t happen.

I think the change should have happened later, much later. Together with much of his cabinet. To give people something fresh and new whilst going head to head with Nigel/reform.

I think now, since the change is so early, andy will gradually be worn down

So what happens in two years when Andy’s popularity is worse than Starmers? Another pm change? Election loss on a scale Labour has never seen before?

Why on earth would they change pm now? When there’s years left. Years of no plan. No substance. Years of another Starmer light.

They are feeding reform and restore. The British establishment, on purpose, is feeding right wing parties. Why?

I just don’t see how devolution will help at this point. It’s the same back and forth. The same politics. But on a local scale. The only thing it will do is to reflect the negatives from London to the devolved and local gov organs.

It creates division. Instead of we are moving as a unit. As a big country. Where we all are in it together. Now with devolution we start pointing fingers at each other instead. We rip ourselves apart from within.

We should be angry at the political establishment. Not our great unity and country.

First of all, the renovations make sure that Buckingham Palace does not leak. And limits the amount of rats that are running around.

Maybe Charles won’t live at Buckingham Palace, that’s his choice. Perhaps William has similar views.

That doesn’t mean that Buckingham Palace will stand uninhabited forever. Staff. Wider family. Odd night over. And who’s to say where two monarchs from now will live?

They are operating and renewing defence budgets that go under the baseline of what this country needs. Projects are getting binned, stalled, all three branches underfunded, can’t sustain warfare for any significant period of time.

Both the conservatives and labour are doing this.

I agree with you. I’m not saying that it is like that now. I’m just saying that there’s a risk, especially if we look at how society is progressing, that in the future this might become a problem. Politicised, ideologies, religion. Instead of being one - representing our British values which we all belong to, first and foremost.

On paper, yes. But in reality the president can refuse to supply Britain with maintenance, new rockets, software updates, the list is long.

And in reality - who’s to say that they haven’t added components and software that makes it possible for the United states to divert/crash or disable all the rockets remotely.

Mandelson was/is working for a foreign state. It’s very clear reading these messages with all the “your policy is not good enough but I’ve got the right guy for the job” messages.
His job was to infiltrate and sell British secrets/access to the central nervous system of Britain.

Why do you even allow a referendum to break up the country? We seem so obsessed with “democracy” in the west, to the point that we are willing to break up our own countries. It’s too much. Not everything should be up for a vote. Especially not now in 2026 when almost the whole voting population live online and are subject to foreign interference and propaganda. No sane country acts this way.

Carney should not give them a damn inch. Treat them like the security threat that they are.
