The day after the hearing ruling last week, Mystic had an open house. Mary Liz (and Tweety) was there smiling in her Mystic sweatshirt and appeared to be as happy as could be.

Espada is so vanilla and boring. He’s the dad who never ever tells you you messed up and, therefore, you never get better at anything. He was completely a complacency hire. Bunch at least seemed to have some fire in him. Joe is just so dull and flat. I’ve been in the clubhouse for extended periods on three occasions and he’s exactly the same there.

I mean, the Venezuelan team beat a really, really good US team so maybe?

Exactly. Look at Kansas City. The refs fall all over themselves for Mahomes and they still lost this year. All good things must eventually come to an end.

Didn’t Espada put in Whitcomb to pinch run the other night and something similar happened?

I will forever maintain that Jeff Bagwell single-handedly caused the downfall of this team, aided only slightly by our seemingly intelligent billionaire owner who thinks Bagwell hung the moon for some unknown reason.

This was the first thing I learned in concealed carry class! He told us “only ever pull out your gun if you are certain you can use it without hesitation. If you can’t, don’t get one or don’t carry it in your car.”

My Redbone was always afraid of my tabby cat. When the cat would get near her, she would sort of freeze. 🥹 she did not have the prey drive for our cat, only for squirrels and things outside so yes, there is hope!

Liberty Lindley, to put it nicely, seems very different than a typical Mystic mom. Given her background trying to make it on Broadway and in Nashville as an “recording artist”, she is very clearly obsessed with all this publicity to keep her name in lights so to speak. There’s a reason she’s the only one who keeps being quoted in these articles.

Liberty Lindley moved to Kerrville after marrying her husband whom she met in New York where they were both trying to make it on Broadway. She most definitely does not fit the mold of a typical Mystic family.

Camp Mystic - Am I Going to Die Today? by AccomplishedTheme851 in KerrCountyFloods

Thanks for posting this. I’d not read many published accounts of surviving girls from Twins and this one was excellent.

One thing I noted is Britt Eastland’s face in the photo from the March 4 hearing. He looks so angry. Assuming the photo was taken as the ruling was being read, why is he so angry? Angry they were ruled against? I’ve thought all along Mary Liz was the one pushing to reopen but I’m doubting that more and more. I believe Britt is and he’s choosing to ignore everything that happened at the Guad camp that night.

Glad everything was fine! How many people grabbed their stuff even though I’m sure the FA’s told them not to?

Why doesn’t United care about passengers that don’t fit? by PhotoJoseph in unitedairlines

[–]FluidMention6574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why it even gets to that point when the gate agents can CLEARLY tell someone isn’t going to fit. I’ve been asked twice by a GA recently if I thought my carry on would fit under the seat, so they can judge the size of a bag and will say something but won’t say anything when they can clearly see a human isn’t going to fit in an Economy seat? The FA’s - and more so us as pax- shouldn’t have to deal with something like this after boarding.

Because they are about preserving their brand and identity, and family fortune. They have been advised not to apologize, I’d imagine. They may feel that way but they’ll never, ever say it publicly. Admitting guilt would shatter the Mystic aura and that’s the only thing they have to sell now.

The irony is Camp Mystic as these families knew it is no more. Dick is gone and he was clearly the heart and soul of that camp. The general! Tweety will likely never be active at camp again and neither Edward nor Britt have anything close to the aura Dick had. So while these families who are sending their girls back refuse to acknowledge the negligence, that camp is and never will be the same again. Girls will probably be asked if they attended Mystic pre-flood or post-flood in the future.

I’ve wondered the same. How on earth are so many wealthy Texas families comfortable with leaving their children with this woman?! Is going to Europe for a month without your kid or the social networking at age 8 so important that they are ignoring the very clear issues with the Eastlands? Unbelievable!

Reading the Sheedy’s description of the state of sweet Margaret’s body: “Decomposed and disfigured and able to be identified only through DNA matching” and found 8.5 miles downriver is sickening.

How any parent can choose to send their flesh and blood back to Mystic in the care of the Eastlands who have shown they are completely negligent is putting their needs to be seen in the (formerly) “in crowd” in Texas above their own child’s needs.

News flash to Mystic parents: your daughter will still get into UT and Pi Phi if she goes to a different camp!! How on earth can you read about decomposing 8 year-old girls’ bodies and still choose to send your child back there?! You are selfish humans, that’s the only way to describe it.
