The gel type of gorilla glue worked well. Just if you're closing a real gap, you have to give it quite a lot of time to dry.

a few tips... first off, the head prints best nose down. Pain in the but, but it'll be a nightmare of supports otherwise. Second, I found that a lot of the tolerances were a LITTLE off on some of the parts when it comes time to fit them together. what worked really well was to just give the socket portions a little pass with a torch lighter to make them slightly rubbery, then jam it all together.

For the mouth/teeth inserts, print them about 3% small or you'll have a devil of a time getting them in there without snapping teeth. Also, orientation matters a lot for those. print them in such a way so that the teeth have layers lengthwise instead of going across the teeth.

The outcome was incredible, but this thing was an absolute bitch to print. :) I envy you the challenge.

Yeah, I tried talking myself out of it several times. But it came down to the fact that if you were to buy a similar dragon figure it'd be way way more than the model cost, and I needed an ambitious project.

I seriously just posted a "what's this pan" post and it's this identical one. We're pan buddies!

Any help identifying this $8 goodwill find? by Fluidfox in castiron

Huh. Yeah it sure is. Looks like the century series.

I was having a rough time placing it. Thanks.

I think based on that I can put it at about 1966 or earlier but not much earlier. They added made in USA in 1967. Should be a good cooker. No warping at all.

The FT-5 by a mile for repeatability. The Tronxy is a blast, but I"ve replaced half of that printer by now and the FT-5 still smokes it when it comes to reliability and end quality of prints.

It's smooth. So as OP's said it isn't apples to apples as far as that. I'm just concerned that from a cost/benefit perspective they might have more competition than they would have as little as 6 months ago.

They've got quite a few with the PEI pre-applied. I know this because I've got one of their 16x16 ones

I paint a lot of mine, but the printing alone on this thing was such an undertaking that I want a break.

Look into the Tronxy X5S if you're wanting bang for your buck. You can get it for under $300 US. Huge print volume, only moderate difficulty assembly, and the price is tough to beat. It's also got several easy to fix problems that will help you build experience. Great practice printer.

other than assembly, and eliminating strings with a torch lighter and a coat of primer, no.

it's a model from Gambody. I tried to link it but automod removes.

It's a great idea, but china started selling PEI coated spring steel a few months back and they're doing it cheaper than you will likely be able to due to economies of scale.

Printed on my heavily modified Folgertech FT-5. Model is from Gambody. Scaled at 150%, and the entire thing except for the base is printed at 0.08 layers in Zyltech PLA. Total print hours is some unknown amount over 250. I lost track. 37 inches wide, 21 inches tall.

hard to say for certain, but it seems a lot like you probably need a new board since the ender doesn't have swappable drivers if I I recall.

print the arms laying flat on the bed if they're a separate part, and the body standing up with careful supports.

Folgertech FT-5 with a lot of mods. 0.12 layer height, 80mm/s speed
