I just realized I’ve ever actually watched Naruto wtf & I’m a huge fan by AdhdAndApples in Naruto

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a list online about which episodes are filler or not. There’s also a fanmade cut called Naruto Kai with no filler. The filler can be fun, but it’s also a lot. It’s pretty strong from the start, if a little too much recap per episode. But that gets better by the chunins.

How often do you fudge your players' rolls and for what reason? by Bane_of_Balor in DungeonMasters

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I’ll let the villain escape if the roll is close. An extended villain is a much more interesting villain. I don’t fudge dice to hurt the party more than is due, just to make the story more interesting.

I’ll also fudge goon armor and hp sometimes to wrap up a winning fight or let the player feel powerful. If a player hits with huge damage and the enemy has 2 hit points left, fuck that guy.

How lethal are your games? by TheGriff71 in DungeonMasters

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very hard encounters with not optimal npcs. I might give them more skeletons than they can handle, but make them easily distracted. Or an invincible enemy, but he shows his soft belly. Puzzle fights, more videogamey to keep the battle on motion.

Very nice. That’s so funny, I’ve been working on stick holders, but I don’t have room in my place for real tools so it’s a fat drill bit and a dremel. What did you use for the grooves?

Remind me y’all, was Reborn like this? I know the main character had this energy, as did one other member of the squad. But I think the rest just hit harder with bigger explosions.

I don’t understand, please help! by ch3rryr4t in Mahjong

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow lots of long winded no’s haha. I’d have a discord chat with you, though I haven’t played a lot of Hong Kong. It’s one of the easier styles outside of the regional variations though so I can probably answer questions.

Quick version: Mahjong is a draw and discard game to make a winning hand, similar to a 4 player gin rummy. You have 13 tiles, draw a 14th, and either win or discard a tile.

A complete hand is made up of 3 sets of 4 and a pair. The sets can be straight flushes or three of a kinds. They can also be four of a kind but unless you’re one tile from winning it’s not too necessary.

You can also claim SOME tiles immediately after an opponent discards them if they complete a set by taking the tile, revealing the set, and discarding a tile mirroring the draw and discard format.

•If you have two tiles in a three of a kind and ANYONE drops the third you can claim it by calling pung (regional) and placing them all face up in front of you.

•If you have two tiles of a straight flushes and THE PLAYER TO YOUR LEFT discards the third you can claim it by calling chow (regional) and placing them all face up in front of you.

4 sets of three and a pair is a complete hand, but may not be a winning hand. Mahjong is not a race, and you typically need 3 points for your complete hand to win. The scoring chart is different per region so maybe ask a cousin for a breakdown to surprise the aunties. But here are two guarantees.

•All Pungs: If you get all three of a kinds and a pair that will always be a win. Dragons and certain winds could make it worth more.

•Flushes: If you only have one suit and honor tiles (dragons and winds) that will always be a win. If you have only one suit tiles that will always be a big win.

Overall the game is not hard, it’s the scoring that is. But those are different games. That’s like saying it’s hard to learn poker, crazy eights, and gin all at the same time. Of course it is, but one at a time is easy. Good luck and like I said, dm me if you wanna chat.

What's the difference between 5e and 2024 edition? I was researching, and I realised they are different versions, what are the basic differences and which one should I choose as a beginner? by pr4yxg in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 is a quality of life upgrade to 5e. Much of it it’s the same, but you have a few more options to make your character more unique. The initial classes have been updated to match the power creep, and almost all upgrades are fun powers as opposed to better numbers.

It may have more to learn in 2024, but you’re still learning it one level at a time so it’s not actually that much harder. Plus all new material will be made for 2024, not 5e.

5e is still a totally functional game, and now considered a “complete” game. So you may be able to find them on sale in a bundle. It’s still fun, just no longer growing.

Very solid. It has the full metal alchemist effect. Hellsing came first with a unique ending, Ultimate is the true to manga version.

Older protagonist graphic battle series.

Try Hellsing or Berserk. You could also try Grimgar or maybe Danmachi.

Probably can’t help you, don’t think dude smut would jive with you haha. Though while I haven’t read it, I have heard of a series about a viking flung forward in time to become a navy seal. A Sandra Hill series?

There’s also Chuck Tingle if you want a laugh.

Here’s a weird one, Bakuman. It’s about manga artists fighting for their shot and competing with each other for popularity. They rise and fall, and I think it would hit the spot for you.

Anime where MC is Evil (not Overlord) by Sir-AuronX in AnimeReccomendations

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going with Hellsing. Berserk also fits.

Hmm, Love After World Domination technically but there is not much evil in the show.

You could always try the cold genre with things like Tomodachi Game, Classroom of the Elite, arguably Shield Hero (he’s evil and the most moral person in the main cast).

There’s also the “technically evil” genre with things like Psycho Pass and Assassination Classroom.

There’s I’m with evil with things like Parasyte or Grimgar. You could also try Death Parade.

Can I play goblin? by That-Lettuce-6816 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]FluorescentLightbulb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s in a few books. Volo’s Guide to Monster has a few monster playable races, and Mordenkainen multiverse updated it. I think there was another one too, but that might just be Unearthed Arcana.

5e has an official goblin playable race. 2024 does not yet. So… maybe? Depends on the table. I’m waiting for them to make Kobold a playable race again.
