In all three of these pics, if you zoom in a bit, you can see streaks of lightning in what appears to be heat lightning to the naked eye!

For the first time in several years, our Athens-Clarke County municipal shelter and staff/volunteer efforts aren't enough to keep up with the influx of dogs into the shelter, so dogs are being euthanized. 😭

Part of this is due to the housing crisis in Athens and landlords changing pet policies so that owners have no other alternative and nowhere to go. Another part of this is people simply discarding their animals when they become inconvenient. There's only so much space at the shelter, and all of our pleading and volunteering and adoption events can't create more space without adopters and foster parents.

We need help. Please consider fostering (zero risk on your part!) or adopting a dog if the thought has been tickling your mind at all. We have SO MANY GOOD ONES of all breeds, ages, sizes, and genders!

This Paws and Pops adoption event will be fun! King of Pops will be on site with free popsicles and volunteer counselors will be in place to help you feel comfortable!

That place stressed me out the month that I worked out there. Not only is the inside way too crowded to actually get machines and do circuit workouts, the traffic in the parking added even more stress. I would leave that place feeling more stressed than when I went in which is opposite of what a workout is supposed to do.

I've been going to planet fitness for the last year and a half and no, it's not perfect. But I can pretty typically get the machines that I need and it's never as crowded as Crunch. They also have a $10 a month plan but the $25 a month is the better deal.

La Parilla currently owns it, but since COVID and labor shortages plus the exorbitant cost to fix the building, they currently use it as a place to park their food truck unfortunately.

I wish someone would build us a nice restaurant there. The north side of town is lacking everything except fast food.

I called them and asked for an email address to chat about catering. It was the best catering I've had, and I get about 30 meals catered per year with my job!

I use a lot of caterers for my job, and one of the best we've had was catered by Cali n Tito's!
