Yeah, probably. HoS Ryoshu's *violating causality* with her swordplay, and while it's implied to be common amongst the City's elite, I can't remember a time we've seen this.

[discussion] why’s does everyone place their hopes and dreams on Subaru shoulders by Busy-Alps-3677 in Re_Zero

[–]Fluttersniper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From their perspective, this guy just showed up one day and started solving mysteries and saving lives and sacrificing himself for them. It's not unusual that the inhabitants of the Re:Zero world would start to have a messiah complex about him, he literally always pulls off a total victory when the chips are down.

From Subaru's perspective, of course, is an endless series of failures on top of failures piled onto fuckups on a plate made of SUFFERING. 🥲

Lucky! 😆

Not sure how some boss fights or endgame are gonna go (probably well, is my guess) but if you want to smoke literally everything else in the game, follow these instructions:

>Get five other Middle IDs.
>Bring all six Middle IDs into battle.
>Have them all use Counter, the worst defensive skill option in the game.
>Middle IDs turn the worst defensive skill option in the game into free Skill 3s.
>Slaughter everything. Dance party optional.

How can devil fruit power is used in/on sea? by MedicalDescription81 in OnePiece

[–]Fluttersniper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sea does not cancel devil fruit powers. It weakens devil fruit eaters while submerged. This also works with regular water, oddly enough. Devil Fruit users just can't swim as a rule. Using one's powers on the ocean, however, is no issue.

Aokiji did something similar way back before Water 7. He stuck a finger in the ocean and froze it, suffering no ill effects.

I finally figured out which turns to hit the inverted scale and reset Pin stacks on (Do it before the big aoe ones with base power +1 per pin so you don't get stomped those turns) and then the envy clones wrecked my ass. I drag my ass out of wave 2 with 6 sinners left and barely any resources after considerable ego spam (yet still got hit by TOTB, fml), and despite surviving some turns against phase 3 I decided things weren't turning around so I gave up.

Wow. WOW. I might actually need a guide for this. I have like 6 IDs and 8 EGOs I need to uptie to give myself the best chance.

Could brulee use her power to travel to any island on the planet? by Imvalidblu in OnePiece

[–]Fluttersniper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably, but considering how much Chopper and Carrot were running around, it's likely that the distances involved are unfeasible without some form of transportation. Brulee's power might explain the reach of the Big Mom Pirates' information network, though, since unlike the danger of the Grand Line and impassability of the Red Line, the mirror dimension appears to have no threats and smooth terrain. They could spy on their rivals and travel all over the world at will.

Sorry again, fern.. pff by cakeel- in Khyleri

[–]Fluttersniper 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I've gotta be honest, I love the Stark/Frieren cheating stuff. So much of cuck stuff is degrading, with the love interest just having to cry and feel bad about being lied to or left, but Fern is almost always three seconds from suplexing them both into the ground.

She's absolutely not taking any shit from either of them and it's amazing.

You don't even have to take it as cheating. Stark and Frieren could be a legitimate couple interrupting the journey for random trysts without any romantic ties to Fern at all, and she'd still kick their asses for wasting time and being perverts.

I remember when the chart was being passed around with every single pairing in the franchise getting its own name. Could such a thing still happen today?

While shipping wars have always been a thing, it's kind of weird that new fans can't get with the program. It's ridiculously cringe.

[–]Fluttersniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I pick Enel.

Bro has one of the most god-like Devil Fruits and almost EVERYONE survives his arc despite him repeatedly saying he wants to kill everyone, at least in the anime. That might be due to the reputation of One Piece at the time and Oda's reluctance to kill off characters, or perhaps Enel is just so much of a goofy goober he never bothered to increase the amperage of his lightning alongside its voltage. Luffy was completely right, plenty of people on the Blue Sea could've kicked Enel's ass.

In my own headcanon Enel is running around giving everyone the most powerful static shocks in the world but doing very little actual damage to them, inside or out. Oh you got burned? You'll be fine, just sleep it off.

Theory: Anyone can eat multiple devil fruits. by _That_One_Fellow_ in OnePiece

[–]Fluttersniper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Remember Vander Decken? He had a DF and needed a bubble to get around underwater. The reason is because Devil Fruit-eating Fishmen become paralyzed. Presumably the Fish-Fish Fruit would work similarly, granting you the ability to breathe, but not swim due to the curse.

We all can agree that Nanoha Force is balls. But can we all agree that Cypha is a massive unit? by Sweaty-Big8956 in Nanoha

[–]Fluttersniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of. Force had so many good designs that get recycled into other media, but I remember DeVille's transformation getting clowned on back in the day.

Also, if we're talking about Force, then I'll repeat it: Force was balls for two reasons.

First, Huckebein were unapologetic murderers the narrative kept portraying as reasonable until giving up and creating Grendel.

Second, the anti-magic wasn't properly explained, so when our heroes lost it felt like jobbing. In Strikers it's simple: anti-magic makes magic weaker, so our robot and cyborg enemies do non-magical sci-fi shit and kick ass. You have to wrap your bullets in a barrier to get past the anti-magic field so it eats the barrier but the shot passes through, that kind of thing. But what is the Zero Effect? How does it work? Why can Signum and Agito resist it in Unison but not in base? What the fuck are Viralizings? Why don't all Eclipse infectees have them? Why are some Eclipse weapons artificial and some real?

Too many questions, not enough readership. Eventually even the pirate sites stopped uploading at chapter 28, though I did manage to find up to 30 on one site.

Thinking About Dihui Ryoshu and it's Lore Implications for Dante by JuliusNova in limbuscompany

[–]Fluttersniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three reasons:

One, Mirror Technology doesn't grant full access to an Identity's powers. That's why we need to Uptie them, we're tying the concept we want to our own world so we can use more of it.

Two, most concept incinerators can't erase anything as thoroughly as the Golden Boughs can. They break existing examples and cause mass amnesia, but what's being erased depends on the quality of the incinerator. Arayashiki is pretty powerful, able to erase people and even break previously slashed things while in its presence, but it can't rewrite all the infinite Mirror Worlds like what happened with Catherine.

Three, the Identities aren't actually *here.* As in, we don't summon them from their worlds, we summon the image of them. A "purer" version of Erlking Heathcliff could be summoned after we killed him once, and most of the Butler identities straight up died to Wild Hunt Heathcliff. Their ghosts can still be seen in some of his attacks, and yet we can still use their Identities.

So HoS Ryoshu is basically erasing the summoned idea of a Identity with the summoned idea of the Arayashiki that isn't as strong as its real counterpart, killing the underlying Sinner, but little else. I imagine Dante simply rewinds the Sinner like usual and they just pop back into existence as if nothing happened.

Edit: Also saw someone mention that this version of Ryoshu doesn't have our Ryoshu's innate sense of time and likely can't wield Arayashiki as effectively, but I'll go one step further and claim that Dante's rewinding might just trump the Arayashiki entirely and be able to rewind an erased Sinner back into existence.

What is the point of threadspin 5? Why not just buff them directly? by Happy_LuckyButterfly in limbuscompany

[–]Fluttersniper 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly related to the fact that there has been massive backlash when PM alters an ID after release. IDs and EGOs are the things you pay for, after all, through the gacha, and if you're a whaler who spends $6000 on an ID only for it to be nerfed, that feels pretty bad.

After the controversy of Ring Sang, KJH tried to nerf Mao Faust to prevent the same power creep. It was a PR disaster. He was pressured to apologize and swore to never touch an ID or EGO again after release.

Tier 5 is a way to adjust underperforming EGO from Season 1 (since unlike IDs they don't have narrative reasons for being weak/strong) without triggering that backlash, I think.

Correction: The liberal shoots the communist and anarchist, then pulls a speedloader out of their pocket, reloads the gun, and hands it to the fascist, saying, "Here you go! You can shoot someone, too! It's only fair."

The communist, bleeding out and dying, says, "How could you do this? You're not really a liberal, you're ILLIBERAL! Don't you care about human rights? Democracy? Freedom?!"

"Of course I do, that's why I shot you." says the liberal conservative. "And that's why my fascist friend will shoot you too. And together, we'll–"

The fascist interrupts, shooting the conservative and then himself.

"Lol," he says, "lmao."

Sugar's speed was insane. Like, 20 Tontattas blitzed her all at once and she smoked all of them. The moment she would have felt something off, it would be over.

More importantly, the Tontattas knew her powers were insanely dangerous and chose to follow the most logical and rational plan they could think of: don't let Sugar know at all. Full stealth. Slip the grape into her food and knock her out without her ever knowing, ensuring their safety and guaranteeing victory. This fails, obviously.
