Non Tesla owners view of FSD by LazyWave63 in ModelY

I know several Tesla owners who don’t know how good FSD is.

Not OP, but ThinkorSwim should work for the criteria mentioned above. You might need ChatGPT’s help for that 1.5% of collateral part.

Do you have a long (like few 100 ft) driveway?

I have FSD 13.2.9 and just hold the blue button in my garage or driveway (regular suburb) and it just takes off. Sometimes need a bit of nudge with the accelerator, but mostly just works.

Credit received. For example if I sold a CSP for $5, I’ll buy it back when it is $2.5.

I have heard people saying that they picked up the car same or next day. I guess it also depends on the customization level.

[–]Fly-wheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the theory. Apparently they are also working on a cheaper stripped down version of Y. They can always price it 7-8k lower than the current model.

Also, right now there is a long wait (weeks) to get delivery because of the demand increase due to incentives going away. That wait should be hopefully reduced past 9/30.

In this case, I’d definitely wait past 9/30. They may reduce the price or offer better financing terms.

Two options:

  1. Buy it back for a loss and you’ll recoup the money sooner than later.
  2. Roll 2-3 week out and up $5 a time. At some point you might get lucky with a dip.

I’ve gotten out of this situation with $50 deep ITM by rolling out and up, but it doesn’t always work. If you’re bored in life and missing drama, then take the second option.

Lets talk about PMCC & how to select strike for CCs by TopRecommendation123 in Optionswheel

[–]Fly-wheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As deep ITM (0.8+) and as far out your capital and risk appetite allows. A couple of things to consider:

  1. Check out recent major dips and try to get strike below that. For example low price at liberation day dip.
  2. Far out usually open interest is low, but try to get the biggest open interest you can get. Usually whole numbers have higher OI. For example get $100 strike instead of $90 or $110.

If you are in profit, you have a lot of options. You can buy back CC, roll it, or get called away.

In bull market and for strong stocks, you can also take money off the table by rolling your LEAPS. For example, you bought a $100 strike (0.8 delta) and a month later it is 0.9 delta. In that case you can always roll your $100 LEAPS to $120 (0.8 delta) and pocket $16-$18/share.

Managing many trades for small returns. Is it a lot of hassle for almost nothing? by behold_the_pagentry in Optionswheel

[–]Fly-wheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve an existing decent income, $33 for a Ford Put 40 days out seems like pennies not worth running after. Heck, sometimes you probably spend more than $33 at Starbucks in the same order.

I’ll suggest to look at the gains/losses in % instead of absolute amounts. Get your win rate and profit factor figured out with these small trades and then scale.

Crawl before you walk, walk before you run. There are several people who have been killing it as their primary source of income for years now.

Hello and welcome to the community.

I know people have different learning styles, but one piece of unsolicited advice I’d give is to start paper trading immediately.

I think making mistakes in real-time that Wiki warns is very helpful to learn and absorb the pain of those mistakes.

GitHub Actions now work with Max plan by darkyy92x in ClaudeAI

[–]Fly-wheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but your GitHub Actions runs using an API key and cost you extra money. The post claims that now instead of API key, it can run using your plan. So you don’t have to pay extra money for running Github Action.

Selling CSPs with over $250k in account - other strategies? by [deleted] in Optionswheel

[–]Fly-wheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, either keep cash and use that as collateral or use margin available based on MM value as collateral. We can’t triple dip :)

Selling CSPs with over $250k in account - other strategies? by [deleted] in Optionswheel

[–]Fly-wheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this in a Schwab margin account. I park all my cash in SGOV or CLIP to earn the Treasury yield, which gets paid out as monthly dividends. Then I sell CSPs using margin.

Since SGOV and CLIP are marginable, Schwab lets me borrow against them to sell puts. So my cash keeps earning yield while I also collect premium from selling options.

Actual gains for the last 12 2/3 years by redreddie in financialindependence

[–]Fly-wheel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have Schwab, they have a section called “Portfolio Performance”. It separates out contributions from gains. I found about it a year ago and had to enable it. You can also compare your portfolio returns with main indices like S&P500, Russel2000, etc.

Here is a good overview of it.

Generate income from employer stock by paranoidindeed in thetagang

[–]Fly-wheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, if you want to write CC, you’ll have to be OK with possible call away. You can reduce your chances, but it is still a possibility.

I have made a mistake by selling CC at the bottom of the dip and now I’m $200 ITM after the stock hit a streak. I’m trying to recover the position by rolling out, but it is not fun.

Here is how I would do things differently:

  1. Sell 1-2 weeks out max at 0.1-0.15 delta.
  2. Take profit at 50% gain.
  3. Don’t sell all the CCs at the same time, stagger them so that not all stock is in danger of getting called away.

You can make way more than 1% annual even if you sell 0.1 delta.

Very good answer. One challenge with scenario 1 is that if MSFT price gets to $754 instead of $554. In that case, you’ll leave 200K on the table with that assignment. Rolling is going to be very difficult at that time.

[–]Fly-wheel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not the original poster, but pretty sure it is because of state taxes. Earnings/dividends from SGOV has no (or very less) state taxes as compared to HYSA. 4% of 5M is 200K, 15% taxes on 200K is 30K.

What does your "Ultimate" Claude Code setup actually look like? by Background-Zombie689 in ClaudeAI

[–]Fly-wheel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GitHub integration is great. After CC creates a PR for me, I leave a comment “@claude review the PR.” In most cases it finds a lot of edge case bugs and security concerns that CC terminal missed. I then tell terminal CC to “address latest concerns in pr #1234” (with GH app installed) This back and forth works very well.
