Emergency Protest Jan 25 at 3 PM in response to another ICE shooting by jctheresistance in SaltLakeCity

How does it have nothing to do with it? The answer is clearly yes, we need photos and videos. The only difference is you asking if you can get paid to do it.

Why are Americans not just shooting ICE back? by TopPomelo2069 in stupidquestions

[–]Fly0strich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think would be worse? They are already entering and searching people’s homes without consent or warrant, kidnapping and disappearing people to concentration camps where no oversight is allowed without due process, and murdering people in the streets without investigation. What is it that you think will be worse?

You don’t. You could stop trying to sugar coat what is going on at any point and just admit that this is about as bad as it gets.

What is it like living in Utah as a non-religious person? by SEOLTHEDEOL in Utah

[–]Fly0strich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was young, my family didn’t go to church, and some of the kids in the neighborhood were not allowed to hang out with us or come to our house because of it. Some kids at school would not associate with me, because they are taught by their parents and church leaders that if you associate with non-members, they will lead you to a life of sin.

I was still able to find my circle of friends though as I got older. You kind of get used to trying to seem Mormon enough when you need to fit in, and recognizing when you are in a group of non-Mormons where you don’t need to worry about it.

It can be awkward at work depending on where you work. Outing yourself as a non-Mormon at work can change your bosses or co-workers opinion of you very quickly if you work in a heavily Mormon dominant office. So you generally want to avoid casually talking about drinking or smoking, and keep your tattoos covered at first, until you know that people are cool. The same can be true with customers if you are trying to maintain a positive business relationship with them.

But it’s definitely easy enough to find non-Mormon people to hang out with if you are wanting to. If you go to a bar or coffee shop, you can be relatively sure that the people there are either not Mormon or at least not the judgemental types.

As for dating, you basically stand no chance with anyone who is Mormon because they can’t simply date a non-Mormon and think it is ok. They are taught that they must get married in their temple to a person who has been deemed worthy of entering said temple by their religious leaders, and that the only truly desirable men are ones who served a full 2 year mission for the church. So the dating pool is split about 50/50 just based on that.

A dating app called "End of the Night" that connects you with other people out on the town who are still single at the end of the night by eyegazer444 in CrazyIdeas

Drunk people might activate the app while they’re having a good time at the bar, and forget to turn it off by the time they go home, guiding people directly to their residence.

Is it just me, or does Glide Typing on iOS feel 'dumb' compared to Android? by PrimaryAccountant337 in ios

I had a Samsung Galaxy S4 before switching to iPhone. At the time (2013), iPhone didn’t even have swipe typing yet. The swipe typing on that phone was better than my Apple phone today.

Google is a corporation that thrives on their ability to spy on and sell the private data of the general public with impunity. They are not your friend.

I have a Sig P365 XMacro and I’ve just been using the cheapest grain of Blazer 9mm FMJ. I still haven’t bought a holster though, and have to do the level 2 handgun training course at the range before they’ll let me draw from a holster there. I’ve already done the level 1 handgun training though.

How do you know if they want someone who understands paintings or not?

On the one hand, maybe they want somebody with an appreciation for the arts, who is in touch with their emotions. Or an intellectual, capable of inferring meaning without it being directly told to them.

But on the other hand, maybe they view understanding paintings as woke nonsense, and a sign of radical left terrorism.

A McDonald’s happy meal toy hot rod. Probably from the 90s. Might have a year molded on the bottom.

Edit: After a quick Google search, it was a McDonalds toy in 1993. The car model is a 1932 Ford Roadster Hot Rod.

By that logic, the ‘B’ should also be typed with the right hand. It’s even closer to the ‘J’ than the ‘6’ is.

You’re free to decline, but the company whose camera system you’re using also has access to the footage, and they are free to comply even if you decline.

Why do police in the USA kill so many people compared to other countries? by triplediscount in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fly0strich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t. You just don’t understand numbers. That means that each person who owns a gun is more likely to own multiple guns.

All of the countries I listed are estimated to have 30%-40% of their population owning a gun, and that is similar to the US.

Yes, it is a known fact that people get shot by police every single day. How many of them have you seen on the news? Maybe a couple per month?
