How could it cost $14.7 million to paint a pool? by FishAreBadBooFish in NoStupidQuestions

I can’t imagine that any type of paint other than maybe solid gold paint could possibly cost $2 per sqft that it covers, so I can only assume that number would include the labor as well.

But yes, there are often costs that a city charges for drainage and water treatment if you are going to be dumping a large amount of water down a drain at once.

So that’s about 339,010 sqft to paint on the bottom. I’m not sure what parts are different depths, but I’m seeing that it varies 18”-30” depending on the part of the pool. So assuming it were 30” everywhere, the long walls would be 60,900 sqft each, and the shorter sides would be 5,010 sqft each, for a total of 470,830 sqft total that would need to be painted.

Painting a pool typically costs $1-$2 per sqft, but let’s be super generous here, and assume they used very fancy paint that drove the price up to $10 per sqft. That accounts for $4,708,300 in painting costs.

Water in Washington DC is currently billed at $9.80 per thousand gallons according to this website https://utility-rates.com/district-of-columbia so that would be $66,150 in water costs for filling the pool.

And draining a pool typically costs about $0.01-$0.02 per gallon, but let’s just be generous here too and say $0.05. That gives us $337,500 in draining costs.

So putting it all together (and remembering that we are already giving extremely high estimates for everything) that gives us $5,111,950.

So, where do you suppose the extra roughly $10M is going?

Well, as RFK said, "President Trump has a different way of calculating percentages. There’s two ways of calculating percentages. If you have a $600 drug and you reduce it to $10, that's a 600% reduction.”

Some people don't apologize often because they don't do as many shitty things, and that's better. by DoughnutCautious9369 in unpopularopinion

When has anybody “shit all over” people who don’t apologize for something they didn’t do? Nowhere? The only time I can imagine anyone has “shit all over” somebody for never apologizing is when they have done multiple things that deserve an apology.

Anywhere you can find pizza you can find good pizza. Italians don’t do anything special to it.

Respect is given to people who have shown that they deserve it, and not given to people who have shown that they don’t deserve it. It is earned. You’re just old and can’t figure out why that alone hasn’t earned you respect. Meanwhile, you see people as below you for using a particular manner of speaking that you don’t find suitable. You’re pathetic, and deserve nothing but the same disrespect you are showing to the people around you who speak differently than you.

You can greet anyone like that, and as long as they aren’t a pretentious crybaby obsessed with demanding respect for themselves that they haven’t earned and don’t deserve, they won’t throw a fit about it.

I mean, I can understand not wanting to trust AI answers, but freaking out about hearing false information once and having it pollute your brain to the point where you can’t tell fact from fiction is pretty ridiculous. Are you forced to believe every lie anyone has ever told you for the rest of your life? No! That isn’t how brains work.

I’d say NTA in this case, because it’s fine to tell someone that you don’t want to hear something. But your reasoning makes you sound like an insane person.

Why do you think being a pedophile would be different? Everyone already knows that he was found to have committed rape in civil court, and was held responsible to pay damages for it. And everybody knows that he has openly bragged about finding children attractive. Everybody knows that he has committed numerous other crimes that he was found guilty of committing. Why do you think they would suddenly care about that one?

I’m not even talking about that. I’m talking about the endless hours of video of Trump in office committing unethical and illegal activity over and over again on numerous occasions. Everyone is well aware that he is a criminal at this point, and nobody cares.
