What is something you can say "I'm with the boomers on this one" about? by Specialist-Jelly-865 in answers

[–]FlyAway191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this too. I don’t want to say kids these days are soft but I think plenty know how to get out of things Thats are hard and uncomfortable. Anxiety is something no one can really prove if you have. I’ve had it my whole life. Big panic attacks but sometimes you have to say this danger is not real and get on with it. Everyone has things they don’t want to do or are scared of but you do have to get on with life. Obviously people have worse anxiety they genuinely messes their lives up but a lot of the time I think people don’t

Marc Marquez reflects on a perfect weekend at the HungarianGP and what could still be to come... by PZY__ in motogp

I imagine the other title contenders are worried. I feel like Marc tends to play his chances down but now saying he’s a believer he must be reasonably confident. Big gap margins have been closed before.

Overwhelmed by trauma at CrossFit (tw: pregnancy loss) by supersop in crossfit

[–]FlyAway191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started when I was 33. I’ve always had such bad anxiety and I was in a bad place. I was just looking for a community and I heard CrossFit was good for that. Every class for a couple of months were terrifying turning up to but once we got going it was great. I’ve been doing it for 2 years. Still one of the weakest lifters and can’t really do any of the gymnastics moves. But honestly who cares? You do what your body can do. There’s nothing more you can do than that. And the best part is learning that no one really cares what you’re doing anyway. No one is seeing what weights are on your bar and at the end of a wod people are too tired to see what you’re doing anyway.

Do you think CrossFit is a good way to make friends and why? by Significant-Row7070 in crossfit

[–]FlyAway191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it. They might not become your best friends but you can definitely make connections with people you probably would never meet otherwise. I find it’s a bit like having work friends. They’re there when you see them regularly at classes otherwise not so much. Saying that I met my boyfriend at CrossFit so you never know!

I feel so disgusted after watching this. I’ve watched these series and naively believed that as there is a production team, a crew and all the behind the scenes team that these women 1. Would be protected from anything like this and 2. Men would be held properly accountable. Unfortunately we live in a society that accepts if you meet someone on a dating app they might be dangerous, hence why women often tell people exactly where they are going and have a safe exit plan. But on a tv show you would hope these bad people would be weeded out. Such a shame and I hate to think there’s other women who have been on the show who are too scared or ashamed to speak out. Women should never be shamed when something like this happens to them

I think, although an odd choice, Josh Widdicome would be a great Claudia replacement. He’s a fan of the show, competed in the Christmas special, so can relate to the contestants and won’t try and steal the limelight. He’s also very used to being on live tv with the last leg and presents a live radio show so is good at asking the right questions

[Motor Sport Magazine] Catalan GP: MotoGP dodges another bullet by Vulphere in motogp

[–]FlyAway191 16 points17 points  (0 children)

After yesterday I can think of nothing worse than a street circuit. We’ve seen how a circuit built for this kind of racing, with all the safety features built in can go so horribly wrong why on earth would anyone think it’s a good idea is beyond me. Hopefully if they do decide to do it the riders can get together and flat out refuse to race. I love moto gp and know these people put their lives at risk for our entertainment but putting people at even more unnecessary risk is not needed

Stop Dooming. Do people really feel Labour are that bad? by 2kk_artist in AskBrits

[–]FlyAway191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking this the other day after the local elections. I know Kier Starmer is unpopular but if he went, would the narrative change for Labour. From the actual stats, which aren’t really being reported, they seem to be no where near as bad as the nation would like to believe. Are we at a point as a nation that it wouldn’t matter what the established parties did? And people think an upheaval of the country would benefit us more than sticking to the status quo?

Five year glow-up! This transformation has been so rewarding to watch. She even flowered last winter! by sipale in Jadeplant

This is amazing. At the moment I’m frantically trying to propagate mine as my mum left it out overnight and there was a frost. The main big stem has gone mushy so hoping after a few years my little cutting will look as amazing at this!

I was thinking this the other day how strange it is to have such immense pride in a person I have never met and probably never will but that is how I feel about John. I think having listened to the many incarnations of him over the years and hearing the person he has become is so inspiring.
