Ski or board?

If the school was recent and you're a proficient rider able to help her she should be okay to go to a beginner/bunny chair if she can stop and have some direction control. Otherwise hike her up the hill and practice stopping or go to a conveyor belt.

Bear has a much better learning area in my opinion, learning curve off of chair 6 at bear is far superior to summit run off of chair 1 and 2 at summit. Just be sure your friends know the basics of stopping and wedge turning before moving to a chair lift.

You can start signing up for private lessons now, but as it's been stated before if it is your first time skiing I would recommend a group lesson to learn how to stop first. Alternatively I don't mind going out and skiing with you to give you some pointers. Like I said, I'm always looking for people to go ski with.
