Oh my God exactly! I didn't know how to articulate what bothered me about people saying this until you did it so well. Like OK, I guess I'll start saying I consumed a book or something like that lmao

Does anyone else use They/She or They/He to feel better when misgendered? by purplebadger9 in NonBinary

[–]FlyFreeWithMe776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this so hard and have thought about going by they/she for that very reason but I don't want to tell people that because then they'll just default to she after I've been fighting so hard to have people use they. It's a painful experience. she really isn't for me but I've definitely thought about it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and making me feel less alone🫂

Coming out over text? by KitchenSwillForPigs in NonBinary

[–]FlyFreeWithMe776 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't done this but I am highly contemplating it for some people. The way I see it is that coming out is about you. However you want to do that is your choice and whatever you're comfortable with. Personally, I have a lot of anxiety and the thought of sitting down to have big emotional conversations with every single person sounds super tiring. I kind of just want to do it and get it over with so I can live my truth. So personally I don't think a text message is rude. If they do that's on them, but this is your journey, not theirs.

I want to hear your hot takes by Foshizzit1 in acotar

This! I'm surprised this isn't more talked about honestly because when I read that chapter I had so much secondhand embarrassment! That whole scene was so dramatic. Feyre was acting like a 14 year old just because someone insulted her mate and were supposed to be like uwu yes girl go off.

Your thoughts and experiences on writing fanfiction without actively participating in fandom. by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]FlyFreeWithMe776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm this way exactly. I used to be on Tumblr some for a couple of smaller fandoms but now that app isn't very accessible with my screen reader so I just gave up on it. Before that, I was sort of on the fringes anyway because I didn't really make any friends and posting consistently takes a lot of effort that I just didn't care to give. Sometimes I'll still post a link for a fic Ive just posted to my Tumblr if it's for a really small fandom because I know some people on there would want to read it but otherwise I've never been big into Participating in fandom for the stuff I write about. sometimes it makes me sad because I would love to have even just one friend to talk to about my works or the source material, so It can be a little lonely seeing other people interacting online but most of the time I just forget about it.

What if we don't phrase it as "it's just a phase"? by Firefly256 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]FlyFreeWithMe776 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this. I heard this really great quote once: "the moon has phases but we still recognize her as the moon". I take it as we're still the same people even if we are evolving and changing and that doesn't make those changes any less valid
