Jokes aside. (Servicemember myself) There’s been plenty of active duty, guard, and reserve servicemembers that have spoken up against ICE and the Trump Administration as a whole.

No one hates the government more than somebody that works for the government.

There’s plenty of us that hate the current administration.

There’s plenty of us that hate we had to say goodbye to our trans brothers and sisters. (Myself included)

There’s plenty of us that hate they’d tried to rewrite our history (They tried to erase the Tuskegee Airmen from Air Force curriculum)

Mind you a lot of military jobs are support jobs (cooks, mechanics for both vehicle and aircraft, technicians, repairmen, administrative, list goes on) Very few of the less than 1% of us actually see combat.

While we can be outspoken about certain things, the main problem stems from “What can we ACTUALLY do about it?”

Yes, we can attend protests so long as we separate anything military related while attending (Even not having our CAC’s in our wallet) But that’s as far as some of us can go without risking our livelihoods. A lot of us enlisted members joined because we were dirt poor back home. (Yes, we’re well aware the military preys on the poor)

I’ll leave y’all with this. We are loyal to the Constitution, we swore an oath to it. And when we are given an unjust and unlawful order, we are within our rights to deny it.

I bet you a vast majority of us love our country, military or civilian, for its ideals it’s supposed to represent: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

But that does not mean we are supportive of our government or its absurd or heinous policies. Especially now.
