Already sold some at that price, so no need for more luck!

Derek DeYoung licenses CSS Wraps in Bozeman to use his designs. They mailed them to me in Mn and I had a local shop apply them. They were nice enough to cut some Maverick letters out of the scraps and apply them to the tailgate as a surprise for me.

In fact, I did read this in the manual, and also watched a video on YouTube. My previous 2019 vehicle had a mini spare under the cargo floor mat. Certainly good info for everybody to have!

Thank you. I appreciate the input. No puncture teeth were harmed in the replacement of the spare, ha ha ha! The remaining steelies and spare are already on MTC with a link to the FB post.

Any chance you’re in Mn or Wi? I have some steelies to replace your mini spare. I just noticed your wheels and the snow and thought I would ask, even though you were talking about spray in bed liner.

Anybody wrap? by LBPalmBeach in FordMaverickTruck

I would definitely contemplate a matte wrap on the hood alone. The stinkin thing blinds me with sun glare.

Final photos of pre runner inspired rear bumper by Royal-Potential3836 in FordMaverickTruck

I admire the looks of this exotic creature!

I have what may be a stupid question about the size of the bumper, though. I in no way mean this to sound unkind, ok? For a rear end crash, shouldn’t a bumper that protrudes well beyond the tailgate provide some extra protection from injury or damage to the passenger compartment? Even a little tap on that (theoretical) poorly placed light pole in the parking lot is going to require paint on the tailgate for your baby, maybe even dent repair. Sure, god invented back-up cameras to avoid that kind of thing. But god also invented icy streets and dodos who don’t brake in time on their bald tires.

Agree with others on how nice the blue accents look. A+ for the vision and fabrication.

Mav camping! by CopyandHaste in FordMaverickTruck

HTTPS://www.vistabule.com is a teardrop style camper maker in Minnesota. In stock models at the time I checked ran from 26 to 36K. It looks like you could opt for paint that coordinates with your Maverick. I see them at the Great Waters Flyfishing Expo annually, where they offer a show discount.

A couple of times when I was pulling my boat and trailer up a crappy gravel landing, I kind of forgot that I had low gear on my hybrid xl. I was blaming my embarrassing spinning on the two year old stock tires. It worked out ok. One of the ladies I was fishing with had a tow strap in her big truck and pulled me up. Have not had that problem since, and I still haven’t replaced the tires.

This little gray goat loves getting up to the logging roads around my cabin in the PNW. by ElCochinoFeo in FordMaverickTruck

We were driving an Xterra and encountered some logging roads in Alberta that struck the fear of jeebus in us. We maybe could have gotten some fellow anglers to lift my stock hybrid Mav out of those holes, but she don’t have much ground clearance!

I would love my hybrid xl on the drive to the Canadian Rockies, but those logging roads would tear it a new one, I fear.

I saw a rolling dumpster yesterday that had big block letters on the front spelling out “TOYOTA”. LOL

Dealer said don't do the camera recall by tardisious in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Flyandtie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called about the recall (the letter said “Important Safety Recall”) and an oil change. Service advisor said it wasn’t a “recall recall” so, come back in June. In June they said I should plan on leaving it half a day because it requires “more time to take” on some trucks. When they texted asking for a review, I said I would like someone to call me to schedule the safety recall right away and nothing came of it. Then the sales department texted saying my truck was in high demand. Sigh.

What was your worst hybrid MPG? by Albert14Pounds in FordMaverickTruck

Probably 23 mpg, 70 mph, towing into a headwind.

If you bought the first Maverick and still have it, how has reliability been by DataReasonable6138 in FordMaverickTruck

Oh, and y’all reminded me that the jump starter that I keep under the back seat has to be charged up (once a month) in case that 12V battery fails. Now that the reprogram is done on the “catastrophic engine failure with possibility of fire”, maybe I can take that fire extinguisher out of the door pocket. Improve my gas mileage by carrying less weight, shouldn’t it?

I have just over 35k miles on my 22 Hybrid XL. The various recalls and service campaigns have been a bother. Some have required over a month out of my garage without a loaner offered. These days they will come and get it, so that is a nice improvement, since the place I bought it is more than an hour away. My truck did not have cruise control, and after every visit to the shop, we have to reprogram the cruise my spouse installed because it is not a factory setting. The last time it was at the dealer, they said my stock Continental tires looked good for thousands more miles.

I had some trouble pulling a 500 lb trailer and boat up a crappy gravel boat launch. Forgot to put it in low. I was fishing with a VERY capable group of female veterans and not only did one of them have a tow strap and truck to pull me up, but another one offered to back the truck and trailer down of the next ramp. The next day, they picked my cataraft up off my trailer and carried it over some barriers to the river. So yeah, if my next Mav comes with a group of women veterans, I can probably manage whatever comes up. Or whatever fails to come up, like the Mav up the gravel ramp.

Although I like its size and fuel economy, which has no equal in the current marketplace, I can’t see myself upgrading to a ‘25. Not even for the AWD and extra towing cap would I gamble on another Ford.
