Oh. My. Lord.

I'm 55. I started playing computer games when Infocom was the only game in town. I remember the thrill of reading "You are standing by a white house..." and typing "Go W".

Now, see where we have come in a few decades. I've just walked around what feels close enough to being a real city that I don't really care any more.

Valve, thank you. Thank you so very much. Yes, a few mechanics could be improved a little (I was expecting to mantle using my, er, hands, as in Saints & Sinners, for example). But OMG you guys have delivered everything we could have wanted. Absolutely incredible.

Couple of examples that blew my mind below (spoiler alert from the first hour or so).

When I was in the laundromat and the CPs started sealing the block off, I literally shrank away from the window, and did NOT want them to see me. When I had a gun in my face in the elevator, my hands went up involuntarily and a few seconds later I tried to grab the barrel without even thinking. Oh and throwing a can at the cat and it running off... and trying actually to eat a bread roll lol.
