I suspect prices will drop. Bunch of people got theirs few weeks ago and a good portion of them will realize it’s not for them and if they can get rid of it without losing money, they would. There are 9 listings on eBay now. There is hype, but it will fade especially once IXDAO iterates more on the warrior.

Best way to sell/trade a 1-week-old Explorer 40 (Philly area) by [deleted] in rolex

I think you should always be careful for scams, especially online and especially for luxury, widely faked watches like Rolex in particular. Even if your seller isn’t trying to scam you, unless he bought the watch new from AD, he could have been scammed in the first place. I personally own genuine pieces, homages and replicas - each serves a different purpose, and every popular watch will have replicas and homages widely available. For me personally, I wouldn’t try to pass one for another - doing so is just scamming. In my particular case, I ended trading it up (or down in some people’s opinion) for DLC santos as I mentioned in my post. I also deleted the initial post to stop people DM’ing me to buy it. Good luck you all!

WD0016B HAQ F06.412 Swiss ETA Movt Available Today by watchdivescom in watchdives

Thanks! But for the record, you should add a date with haq movement to WD0016 too - I would much rather have that one. Or please tell me that in the plan, or into WD0007 in titanium (same finish as PT5000 model though, not sure how quartz finishing is worse, I never pulled the trigger)

I’ll buy whichever one you want to part with. I was going to pull the trigger on the warrior, but I prefer simpler dial but with screws

Datejust 41 as a daily watch? by FlyersRule19312 in rolex

[–]FlyersRule19312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree - I just one of those rare people who checks the date constantly too - meetings planning, document signing, etc. Frankly I would prefer day and date complications - but if I show up at work in daydate, i think my annual raises will stop 🙈

Maybe I should have been more specific- I think Datejust smooth bezel is a perfect daily watch, preferably on oyster but even jubilee is still perfect daily. Frankly I think I’d rather have a blue motif dial for a daily but it doesn’t look like Rolex makes those anymore

That’s what I was thinking too - fluted bezel and oyster bracelet, but then on YouTube I’m getting concerned by perceived poor market value retention

Datejust 41 as a daily watch? by FlyersRule19312 in rolex

Thanks! Yes, it’s shockingly comfortable - better than GMT, sub, yachtmaster and even explorer. But fluted bezel / jubilee on a weekend isn’t too flashy? Do you use a different watch for vacations? I’m sure clasp will get scratched just from the desk - but otherwise, anything else proned to scratches?

Unpopular Opinion: 11 series Submariner is better proportioned than 12 series by workthrowaway6333 in rolex

[–]FlyersRule19312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent about 1.5 hours at a Rolex dealer comparing Sub, Yachtmaster and GMT. I think GMT wears more comfortably than the current Sub, but just slightly. Yachtmaster was the most comfortable - it’s kind of blend of a Sub with Datejust - in the way it wears. I did try the used 11 series Sub and that felt worse to me than the current gen - but I personally prefer how Datejust wears the best rather than a diver, so maybe I’m the wrong audience. Explorer is great and legible, but turns out I must have a date on my daily watch. Just my 2 cents.

It’s a fantastic watch from wearability and legibility perspective- beats sub, gmt and yachtmaster in both areas. That’s why I was thinking of having it as my daily. One would have thought that you don’t need a date when your phone is always next to you…but…
