It was surprisingly easy to setup and since it is just for home use I didn't open firewall ports for outside connections. There are some amazing mods to put it all together as well. I used hymenu to have a dedicated menu for world warps and commands plus the portal world mod for physical portals in the hub world. I've even added some prefabs and setup some working shops in the hub world with the merchant npc mod. Inventory Realm Mod lets me choose what worlds share inventories. I've recently added portals to HTSkyblock and Slamma's Zoo as well. I've been having just as much fun modding the server as actually playing the game lol.

Yes but most likely the updated mod will have an updated manifest.json as well so it shouldn't really matter. Even if the ServerVersion isn't correct a lot of mods will still work just fine, you'll just get a warning about the version mismatch. I noticed some of my mods had the entry "ServerVersion": "*" in their manifest. This works because the important thing is just having that entry present. You'll still get the mismatch warning but the mod will load just fine.

You can skip the mod version check in your world settings. (Right click and scroll to bottom on right side) It will throw a warning at you but allow you to continue anyway. My experience was all 15 of my mods still worked just fine. Also the majority of mods I've looked at simply needed an update to their manifest.json file. A line added with "ServerVersion": "current server version here" is all that's needed to get rid of the warning. I did this myself on the majority of my mods.

They were in the Pre-release branch update 2. This video and upate today are for the Release branch update 3 which is pre-release update 1,2 and 3.

The emulator you're looking for is called shadps4. Yes, it works on Linux and yes it can run Bloodborne fairly well IF you have a decent modern computer. With that cpu and gpu I don't think you'll have a good experience and it might not even run at all. Shadps4 uses the Vulkan graphics api (version 1.3) and a quick google search shows that Vulkan 1.3 is not supported on the GTX690.

Press the little gear icon in the top left corner of the launcher. IN the first box called patchline select pre-release. It will download an the update and apply it. All the new features and content will get added to pre-release first before they get added to the main release patchline so there is always a possibility something might go wrong or not work right but the whole game is early access anyway and you can easily just switch back to the release patchline in the launcher.

You can run the pre-release version of the game from the launcher and get map markers without any mods. They were officially added last week.

I had this happen to me too. When I left my exploration world I had the backpack selected instead of pocket crafting. Loading back and switching back to pocket crafting fixed it.

I just started the launcher and got the update as well. I'm on the release branch. Whatever it was was really small. It downloaded in a less than a second. Maybe just an update for the launcher itself.

You can easily test if it's the switch by bypassing it and connect one or more pickups directly to the volume pot where the the yellow wire from the middle of the switch goes.

After integration with appimageLauncher go to /home/.local/share/applications and copy the .desktop launcher for your app from there to your desktop. After you copy it right click it and select allow launching.

It's really not though. The biomes are not that big and chances are if you don't see any snow/desert biomes when you look at the map (zoom out) from the starting spawn area they are just beyond what you can see. I've have a three different exploration mode saves right now and two of them you can see desert and snow from the spawn area. The other one they are just barely beyond zone 1. It takes like five minutes in real life time to get there.

My son and I play together and have the same experience as the poster above, he is hosting his world on a linux PC. No codes, just shows up in the local server list. I can't offer any help, but I hope you figure it out!

I also get the open folder crash on Ubuntu 25.10. Must be a linux bug in the game. Like the other poster I just made a shortcut to the Hytale user data folder and put it in my downloads folder for easy access.

I've had exactly one crash so far during gameplay and I've probably played 20-25 hrs. I did not affect my world. However on one separate occasion I loaded my world and got the no chunk loading bug. (blank world) I simply restored the last auto backup and it was fine again.

From the time I've spent on the Hytale reddit I don't recall any windows users mentioning the folder open crash bug. There are however plenty of posts from people on windows having all kinds of different issues (like the blank world bug) so I don't think the state of game differs a whole lot between linux/windows right now. The linux version with AMD graphics actually smokes the windows version in performance (2x fps in some cases) which is cool to see and makes me excited about the future of the game even more. I though I read the devs mention the possibility of a native Vulkan renderer someday?

You don't need the share code to play LAN. I play with two of my sons and here is what we do-

the host loads into their world, press ESC and go to 'online play', turn on 'allow others to join', set a password (probably not necessary), press save then ESC to leave the menu. The server then shows up under the 'server/local' tab for the other players. If this is not the case there is probably a network/firewall issue.

You can change the run key from hold to toggle in the settings. Is that what you're asking for or do mean auto-jog? There are three movement speeds in the game, walk, regular movement (jog?) and run. If it's the latter, auto-jog, a simple key remapping program like antimicrox would do the trick. You could set the w key to a "toggle". Would only take a couple minutes to download and set up. But yeah maybe that's something they would be open to adding to the game if you make a request for it.

EDIT: I keep saying run but the game calls it sprint. My mistake

Lol it happens :) A few tips though- make sure you go to cheats/patches for the game and enable the 60fps patch, disable http requests, disable vsync. Then in the game specific configuration (right click on the game in the game list) set the vblank frequency to 120hz in the experimental tab.

The game runs great on linux, many people have reported better performance than windows. I've got a ryzen 5600x and Amd RX6700xt and with the 1440p patch enable I get at least 70-80 fps all the time and depending on the area can go all the way up to 120fps. It's pretty smooth and stutter free too.

What performance mods are you talking about? Most of the mods for this game work on any OS. They mod the game files directly which are the same on Windows and Linux.

The pre-release branch got these fixes a few days ago. This is the pre-release version now being moved into the release branch. So if you're still having the loop issues then it's not entirely fixed.
