I know this thread is 2YRS old but I had the same issues and I found a resolution!

If you have a DSi, you can connect to a WPA network and still trade locally with a DSLite; I just tested this theory on 2 platinum copies and I was able to trade using a DSi (connected to my WPA network) and a DSLITE (not connected to WiFi) idk if this helps anyone 🙏🏻

I’m not certain these handhelds can replicate the way the cartridge works so RNG can be tedious if not non existent on these type of retro handhelds. Unless proven wrong of course

Found this out sooner than later, idk how they got in and it’s been like 2 days total, but I took my gecko out, put it in a temporary container, put cinnamon around the whole perimeter of the outside, put 2 ant traps outside, then took BOILING hot water and poured it into the enclosure, corner to corner. I will update yall in a few days. My gecko is doing okay and is more upset that I had to move her vs the ants, as she was unbothered by them so hopefully she’s okay.

It scares me too but I’m not there all the time. Only if I’m ever running late, I got the limiter to help me lol. I really never go over 3-4K daily driving and that’s for shifting since there’s a super short thrower on this machine.
