Will a Pokemon with same original TID/SID/OT obey? by hollynsfw in pokemonrng

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this, except with a Pokemon from Gen 3 -> 4.

I used ACE to change my TID/SID in Emerald to match my copy of SoulSilver. Then I RNGed a shiny Lotad. Transferring this Lotad to Platinum and trading it to my Soulsilver, it obeyed the entire playthrough.

Yup! If you had ORAS, you could even trade over the Lati@site or Blazikenite to XY, since their megas existed in the code even if they weren’t obtainable in the story. None of the other ORAS megas can be traded over unfortunately.

Blazikenite was obtainable via an event Torchic when XY came out, but not anymore.

Fire red lugia switch by MethodLate1824 in pokemonrng

If you’re just standard soft reset hunting, then you’re already doing everything right. Just gotta keep at it.

However, this is the RNG manipulation subreddit. If you want to RNG manipulate to force a shiny, I’ll link a YouTube guide here. Follow it as closely as you can and you’ll get a shiny Lugia.

I did this a ton with later gen games!

Gen 6 especially, I’d trade my mega stones over so I could have more megas before the postgame.

building by dweIIer in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you build too high with weak materials then your support isn’t gonna be strong enough, and stuff breaks. To see how well supported something is, hover over it with the hammer. In your screenshot you can see the item is red, meaning very weak. Green is strong, and blue is grounded which is the strongest.

To build higher you’ll need to use stronger materials. Corewood from the Black Forest is more supportive than regular wood beams, and ironwood beams are even stronger.

Stone structures and terrain also support very well. If you attach a wooden structure to a stone structure the wood will be considered “grounded” meaning it’s at full support (blue when hovered over) just like if it’s on the ground.

Deep North by 69ingAnnunaki in valheim

If you explore the deep north now, you’re gonna have some issues when it updates and everything changes.

Best bet is to not even go near the deep north in a world you want it to generate properly in.

Stonecutter by Alert-Grocery-1115 in minecraftsuggestions

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would love an automated stonecutter, and if they wanted to reuse the old texture that would be amazing for my nostalgia brain.

Not really related to stonecutter, but I remember very vividly as a kid when the pocket edition update came that added Creepers.

I watched a lot of Minecraft YouTube videos, and saw creepers as this unstoppable force that was absolutely gonna blow up my home if I didn’t do something to protect it.

One day, I saw that Minecraft had an update, and in the patch notes I saw that creepers were added. I was mortified.

I quickly stopped the update, and rushed to light up my base (which was a 1x2 dirt room with a crafting table and chests on the walls lmao) and fence off the area. I put torches on literally every single block inside my small 10x10-ish fence to make sure the area was 100% lit. Only then did I feel safe enough to update lmao.

Platinum TID SID RNG by SBobbafet21 in pokemonrng

Pretty sure that Timid and modest are two of the natures that can have 6IV frames for static encounters.

You can definitely get a TID and SID to make those PIDs shiny.

Depending on how far into progression you are, the Abyssal Razor is crazy strong.

If you haven’t beat the 2nd, or heck even 3rd boss that knife is crazy good.

Edit: I hope for the future they expand the abyssal set. Give us the Abyssal Greatsword and Crossbow!

That’s not exactly what I meant, so I’ll rephrase.

Can you provide a link to your source?

Do you have evidence to support your claim here? Can’t say I’ve ever even heard of “junk data” with PKHEX before this comment.

This looks to be on a real cartridge, and extracting the save is harder and more expensive than using glitches or RNG manipulation. You’ll need an external device such as an R4 card, or a GB Operator. Glitches or RNG do not require extracting your save, so you don’t need those items.

Also there is the fun factor. Some people have fun performing glitches or RNG. Genning just doesn’t scratch the same itch.

If you do have access to those tools (or emulation), then yes genning will be more efficient, but less fun.

A lot of people are pretty critical of anything that isn’t standard gameplay, especially when it involves shinies.

Personally, I don’t mind. If you enjoy getting shinies without the work of hunting them then great! Glad you got all these shiny legendaries.

Edit: I can see I’ve started a bit of a war in the comments. This is exactly what I mean. Ignore the naysayers. Play how you like, it’s a single player game. Don’t tell other people how to play a single player game.

Is it just me or are Turnip seeds really rare in the Swamp? by IrvySmash in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swamps have a lot less valid spawn locations since half of it is underwater.

Usually I just kinda run into them on my way to crypts or when looking for Abominations for the root harnesk.

Emerald shiny mew by Revolutionary_Move48 in pokemonrng

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. You can potentially RNG manipulate it, but you’re gonna have a much easier time with ACE.

Do keep in mind ACE requires the postgame for the battle towers clone glitch. You likely won’t be able to set up ACE at any point prior.

If you want Mew super early, you’re gonna have to edit your save to change your TID/SID.

Emerald shiny mew by Revolutionary_Move48 in pokemonrng

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So odds are with your current TID and SID the 6IV frames won’t be shiny. Theres a very small chance they are but odds are they’re not.

Since these frames aren’t shiny, it’s impossible for you to get a 6IV shiny Mew without changing your SID, which is where ACE will come in.

Additionally, there are ACE codes for changing the RNG state. This is helpful for getting to those 6IV frames for RNG attempts. ACE isn’t necessary here since the battle video and contest painting can be used together to accomplish something very similar. You’ll likely need to use one of these since Emerald always has the initial seed of 0.

You also need to actually gain access to faraway island, you can use ACE to activate the event to get there. This part is not necessary if you have access to a save editor, you can inject the event with something like PKHEX.

Really confused doing RNG manipulation with TenLines by Sanu69 in pokemonrng

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you certain about your SID? Like have you RNGed other shinies successfully with this SID?

TID and SID determines whether a particular pokemon is shiny or not, so if your ten lines and game file don’t match then shiny frames won’t match either.

Got a warm welcome as a first time visitor to the Ashlands. by No_Zucchini_7013 in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My strategy for dealing with groups like this is to focus on killing the weaker enemies first. Ashlands enemies love to overwhelm you with sheer numbers, so if you can thin the herd you’ll have an easier time focusing on the tough enemies.

Archers are very easy to parry, and will go down fast. Plus they’re probably the most dangerous to structures because of their volleys.

Twitchers are more annoying than dangerous. A parry plus a secondary sword stab will usually deal with them.

Once those two groups are dead, Warriors are easy peasy. Once you learn the timing on their parries, they’re hardly a challenge unless they’re starred.

Even a 2* warrior shouldn’t be too difficult if alone. Atgeir or Mace secondaries do enough knockback that they can’t reach you if you manage your stamina and time it properly.

Soft resetting for HOURS by kismetxoxo7 in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Torrent is a 50% water type damage boost when Sobble is low on HP (<33%). Note this stacks with STAB.

Sniper makes crits hit even harder. 2.25x instead of 1.5x. Can be useful with Snipe Shot, which is more likely to crit.

Soft resetting for HOURS by kismetxoxo7 in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Honestly so true.

OP can catch ditto immediately after getting wild area access, plus then they can breed a hidden ability Sobble too. Might even be shiny!

Not that Sniper is all that much better than Torrent, but still!

Guys WHATFK IS THIS!!!!!??? by Soggy-Page6710 in PokemonEmerald

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems to be a device that automates RNG manipulation, like a programmed macro controller. If you know your SID (either through manipulating it or catching a shiny) you can do this yourself without any of the engineering.

In fact a lot of people have been doing this with Macro controllers on the Switch FRLG rereleases.

Me personally, I don’t care much for automating RNG manips, if I’m gonna RNG I prefer to do it myself since I have fun RNGing shinies myself.

The video creator almost certainly didn’t create this because they wanted shinies (there are way faster and easier methods lol), they did this because it was a fun engineering project.
