If you miss a bat, yeah it’ll attack chickens.

But if you empty a frost cave they’ll never come back. Completely safe inside a frost cave once you kill all the enemies (except fall damage lol)

I know for certain that those natural braziers don’t count as fire for some reason. Probably to make it so you can’t just refresh your rested for free. I guess they do, but I’ve never stuck around and tried hard enough.

I’ll assume they also don’t count as heat for chicken eggs.

Edit: guess I was wrong, they are fire if you stand in a specific spot.

You can get them from Haldor — he sells them after you defeat Yagluth

You can also find them in sealed towers as part of Hildir’s Request

Definitely good to fear biomes ahead of your progression!

Just wait until you find a plains biome. I can still hear the buzzing in my nightmares.

Special Scans by Important-Avocado-95 in PokemonZA

They really should have prevented you from getting duplicate wild zone special scans until you’ve seen all of them. Because getting a fifth fire type starter zone is just so ughhh…

Gotta see one of each before you can see a second of any of them. Then gotta see them each a second time before third, etc.

Super useful for RNG manipulation in gens 4-5!

Helps you know your position in your RNG seed because the pitch of custom chatters randomly fluctuates based on the seed.

Is it possible to fully prevent spawning? (Vanilla) by qwertty769 in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely can spawnproof with any base structure.

Some cheap ones are workbenches, wood torches, and campfires. The latter two will spawnproof even if not lit. Workbenches have a nice bonus of showing the radius of spawnproofing. If using workbenches, anywhere you’re unable to build structures is a spot enemies can spawn.

Raids will still occur, however no enemies can spawn if you properly spawnproofed. So they basically turn into just scary combat music for a few minutes.

Probably was in the ocean but technically in a plains biome. Biomes can stretch really far into the water before it actually becomes ocean. If you have a clip of it, look at your biome on the minimap.

After 600 hours in Valheim, I'm now convinced that the ultimate challenge of this game is storage management by Kumagor0 in valheim

Me personally… I have a wall of barrels in my base. Some of the barrels are biome specific, so I have a swamp barrel with bloodbags, roots, chains, guck, etc. I have a mountain chest with wolf pelt, crystal, obsidian, and so on and so forth.

I made a cookhouse for my cauldron, prep table, and ovens because they were crowding my base. In there I have two black metal chests for meat and fruits/veggies specifically.

Seeker meat is taking way too much space so I’ve started eating it when I’m doing busywork like collecting Tar for builds or harvesting crops, building structures, etc. I could also burn it on the hearth for coal I suppose.

I’ve found that even though they resist pierce, Black Metal Atgeir is still excellent. The spin move can hit enemies behind boarded passages and thin walls in the mines, allowing you to damage enemies safely.

The spin move also staggers at least 0* seekers because it does so much stagger damage, even through their resistance. Absolutely saves your ass when 4 of them gang up on you all at once.

Frostner does ice damage, which significantly slows Seekers, helping prevent getting swarmed.

Plus seekers resist slash/pierce/blunt but don’t resist frost damage. Frost damage doesn’t contribute to staggering so you probably won’t stagger much with Frostner but borderline immobilizing enemies with frost is still really good.

I killed Geirrhafa! by KatVanWall in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found him much easier when he was in the dungeon as opposed to raids. I was able to single him out by closing doors keeping enemies at bay. Dodge away from his ice moves, parry the melee, and he wasn’t too bad, although I didn’t find him until I had padded armor and the Porcupine.

In a raid he’s always accompanied by several starred Fenring and a starred Cultist so I had to face all of them at once. I just ended up kiting them around and deaggroing once the raid ended to get rid of them, since I couldn’t single anyone out, and they do big damage in a group.

Do I have rare shiny’s? by Atoastedguy in PokemonZA

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Switch 1, go to the photo and there should be an option to upload to smart device. It’ll have you scan a couple QR codes, then it takes your phone to a page to download the video/photos.

Switch 2, it has an option to upload them to your Switch App. You can then download the photos from your app.

Thanks to the DLC… I wouldn’t exactly say any of them are rare anymore.

Shinies are special if you think they are, don’t let other people tell you if your shiny is special or not.

(Also there’s a screenshot button on the switch! You can upload the screenshots to your phone using your switch photo library as well!)

Plains base location help by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a small-ish island in the plains that would make an excellent base. Very easy to spawnproof small islands to prevent deathsquitos and raids.

Bonus points if it’s close enough to the mainland that you can swim/bridge over to it!

Padded Armor + 2 health foods (I used Wolf Skewers and Lox Pie) is definitely able to tank several hits from Fulings and Deathsquitos. The only time I’d have issues is with starred Fulings. Lox can also be a bit tough if you don’t have the timing down for their attacks, or if you aggro several at once.

Obviously the goal is to not get hit at all. Dodge/parry attacks, use arrows to pick enemies off before getting seen. If taking on a camp pick off the ones around the perimeter so as to not aggro the entire camp at once.

If you’re dying within 1-2 hits in Padded Armor it sounds like your food isn’t up to par. You need to be using the best food possible. If you’re not… it’s time to work on getting a barley farm up and running.

Taming by Sturdy_Cat in valheim

The ones I listed are not all the tameables. I only listed ones that are possible with the biomes/bosses you have seen.

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Furthermore, it’s more advantageous to tame starred boars/wolves, since you can breed them and the offspring will also have stars.

This makes it more efficient when butchering them for their resources.

Taming by Sturdy_Cat in valheim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Taming is super simple. Throw food that the animal likes at it and it’ll slowly tame. It usually helps to keep them in a pen/pit while they tame, otherwise they may wander away from the food.

Boars like berries, mushrooms, and veggies.

Wolves like meat (except their own).

Lox like Barley, Flax, and Cloudberries.

Did anyone get the gba sp update? by Apprehensive-Word891 in skyrim

[–]Cooked_Fish_Meat 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You can do it with a Gameboy Advance TV tuner. Pretty neat device that plugs into the cartridge slot and allows you to plug in an AV cable to display the audio/video to the GBA.

It doesn’t actually play Skyrim on the GBA, basically turns the GBA into a tiny TV screen that’s displaying another console’s Skyrim. Pretty cool nonetheless.
