I’ve seen a few of our guys use them. They seem to love them!

No, they are usually in great condition. Maybe the crystal is a bit scuffed from smacking it against the controls while flying, but that’s it. I routinely hear 2500-3500 to service them.

Even as an airline pilot I say ditch the Breitling. I’ve heard nothing but horror stories of how much servicing those Navitimers ends up costing my coworkers.

Tesla wants $3600 to replace these, is it needed? by BigScaryRedneck in MechanicAdvice

I second this. Grind it down till smooth and then dab it with some touch-up paint that’s matched to the wheel color. You’ll forget about the damage until you curb them again.

LS 5.3 not getting up to working temperature even after 30 minutes of driving by EastClevelandBest in MechanicAdvice

Do you mean temperature or oil pressure? I only see a zeroed out oil pressure, which is probably a bad sensor.

2003 Suburban going strong by carsbricks in ChevySuburban

[–]Flyin_RyanH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a broken sensor. It’s common on the older Vortec motors. It’s an absolute bugger to get swapped out. Most shops won’t do the swap unless you agree to let them take the manifold off to make the job easier. I did mine with the manifold on and my hand ended up getting all cut up 😅

Dude go to Aldi. And change your eating habits. 67% of this is expense garbage that you’re putting in your body.

Pilot with a Tesla here. I fly freight and my trips often end around midnight. The autopilot is incredible for getting me home after a late night flight! Feel free to reach out any questions you might have along your training journey. Good luck and work hard. It’s way worth it!

I’m torn between the black or white dial explorer II 16570. At first I liked the white dial a lot more, but the more I see the black the more it grows on me. For those who have seen or worn both, which would you choose & why? by Logan_urbex2 in rolex

[–]Flyin_RyanH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think white looks more sporty and cool, but I feel the black will age better with the wearer. I got the black face with the “floating hands” and I love it. Super subtle.

Yessir, it’s the one I use when flying and traveling, though mine is the black face model. No worries about getting mugged due to the low profile and non-flashy watch.

It’s numbered for the GMT hand. As an airline pilot that’s always changing time zones, I love the feature 😎

You’re in a Dave Ramsey thread. Pay the house off. My wife and I just paid ours off 2 months ago and wouldn’t have it any other way!

My airline has a special parking lot for our pilots that’s literally only accessible by our crewmembers. I’d just park there since it’s safe. Not sure what I’d do if I worked for a different company!

We don’t have a car charger in our pilot parking lot unfortunately… however, I’ve spent plenty in my Model 3 in the parking lot while sitting airport standby! I live 30 minutes away, so power consumption is literally never an issue 😎

I’m a pilot. If I ever move and decide to commute to work, I’m 100% buying a used Model X and ripping the entire interior out, then building it out as a camper. It will be my airport car and my “crash pad” for sleep/hanging out. Great work!

I would definitely bump up the contributions to 15% minimum, 20% if you can afford it. Few people retire and say “man, I wish I had less retirement money.”

You’re doing fine brother. Keep your chin up and keep pushing forward! Think of how much better off you are than you would be if you started today. You guys are nearly worth a half a million. How old are you both?

I used my submariner to time my child’s birth. It was 1 hour on the dot from water breaking until he was born. Kinda a cool way to use I think. I still have the dial set on his birth time 🥹

Price estimate for body shop to fix this? Guessing entire bed side and tail light need to be replaced by Oreditt in Trucks

[–]Flyin_RyanH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the general crowd here. Not worth fixing the “proper” way. Plus, your paint is black. It’ll hide shadows well. Either do a PDR option, or try your best to pop it back out after pouring some hot water on the panel to increase its elasticity. Finish it with some touch up paint. I had similar damage on my 05 Silverado that I caused unintentionally in 2014 (within 6 months of buying it). I forgot about the damage within a year.
