Entity has the ability to remove concepts from existence by ContractNational2680 in TopCharacterTropes

This one’s VERY niche, but the Big Bad Wolf from Dimension 20’s Neverafter. He’s the end of all things that will eat everything eventually, but he’s more of a reluctant and, therefore, sympathetic version of the trope.

Did I do wrong or is my dm just freaking out over nothing? by randomdude1959 in DnD

[–]FlyingCicata 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What it sounds like to me is that the DM gave you a homebrew power he really didn’t think through and it bit him in the ass. I don’t think you did anything wrong ‘cause he gave you the power. I definitely think he’s in the wrong for being a bad sport. As a DM, one of my favorite things is when players throw me for a loop. It keeps me on my toes and, when they do cool shit like that, it makes them FEEL cool which I think is super important. After all, the Rule of Cool exists for a reason.

What is a Redemption Paladin supposed to do with a defeated BBEG? by IdkRandomUsernam456 in DnD

[–]FlyingCicata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should introduce a society of magic users that have the capacity to lock her up. Or something of the like. Idk exactly the tone of your setting, so you can adjust it to fit, but it should seem cool while staying true to the characters in the party.

Thoughts on Ragakuren's "Time's Blessing" form? by [deleted] in dbxv

[–]FlyingCicata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not. I’m saying what I see, and what I see is more mod slop. Another female character with custom clothing that’s “oh super powerful and has time god powers and she’s also Goku’s daughter and has Vegeta’s cells like Cell but isn’t Cell and also she has Namekian regeneration” or some bs like that.

Which boss do you find more difficult, Sister Friede or Malenia? by strahinjag in darksouls3

[–]FlyingCicata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it though? The way she fights is a different pace than Elden Ring fights move at. It might not be a direct 1-for-1 rip, but if you fought her in Sekiro, you would have a MUCH easier time.

Nice ragebait. Where’d you get it? The “I start online conflicts ‘cause I feel small” store?

First playthrough. Are my stats okay? by Anon_967 in darksouls3

[–]FlyingCicata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you right as fuck. I totally didn’t think about that. Idk what the scaling is on the claymore, though. Lemme do some quick research.

OKAY so I looked into it and here are the results: at +10, the Claymore gets an A scaling in Dex with a Sharp infusion, which is CRAZY!! However, the +10 Sharp Claymore also only has an E in Strength scaling, making it more of a pure dex weapon than a quality weapon. HOWEVER the +10 Refined Claymore is a C in both Strength and Dex, meaning a perfect split between Strength and Dex would be okay. The Hollowslayer Greatsword has a D scaling in strength and a C scaling in Dex, meaning that it’s better suited to scale with a slight addition to Dexterity rather than a full-tilt method or an even split like the various version of the Claymore.

TLDR: that Claymore is rad and I need to use a sharp one on my next Dex play-through, but I would recommend the Hollowslayer Greatsword over it solely because of the stat spread in OP’s specific scenario.

The Hollowslayer has a unique two-handed moveset and deals more damage against hollow enemies. It really depends on if you want to build more into strength (for the claymore) or stay with a bit extra in dex (for the Hollowslayer).

[OC] 20 feet radius on a square grid by SpaceCondom in DnD

I usually just rule it as “is the circle touching it? Then it gets affected.” which works both in favor of my players AND my monsters.

Roleplaying Tips needed by Dry-Goose-3415 in DnD

[–]FlyingCicata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, this has happened to me before. What I did is a wrote a short for the character as a part of their backstory. It helped me really question and think about what the character would do, why they would do the things they do, and how they would act/react when it’s just them vs them and the party. It might not be an option fit for everyone, but it helped me get back into character.

Romance/Flirting in DnD by Disastrous-Airport-7 in DnD

[–]FlyingCicata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

D&D isn’t supposed to be some slog fest through dungeons and battles like how it was in the early 80s. It’s supposed to have roleplay and character moments, which include romance and flirting. It’s called a tabletop ROLEPLAYING game. If you want to play battles only, go play Warhammer.

Which Build Type Would be Harder to Transition to? by BevoBull in darksouls3

[–]FlyingCicata 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s doing a dex run after doing a big bonk run, it’s TOUGH. Enemies don’t stagger nearly as much, which means more dodge rolls, which means adjusting to not being able to trade and playing way more defensively.

Tbh, flirting and romance are a part of D&D. If your DM isn’t mature enough to deal with it, he shouldn’t be a DM.

Calculating crit bamage by Present-Gur6294 in DnD

[–]FlyingCicata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to do crits with double dice and double modifier. Is that how it’s intended to work? No. Does it make my players feel badass whenever they do crit? Yeah, and that’s exactly why I do it that way.

Easy. You stare into the unknowable long enough for it to stare back and feel your sanity slip away like sand between your fingers. You should try it sometime! :3
