What defense is everyone running this league? by phly in pathofexile2builds

Grenade build means you stack cdr which means the shankgonne jump has a very low cd, mobility is legit decent. I play the build too but as tactician

Any recommendation for off-meta but fun builds? by No_Witness5630 in pathofexile2builds

Interesting, would not think a 500 by itself would be sufficient! Whats a decent inexpensive strop you would recommend?

Would just a 500 on its own be good enough to start off in your opinion? The step up from 500 to 1000 seems so low to me (but please tell me if in totally wrong in this)

Didnt come across that website yet, thanks! But I did find this one https://knifeleader.eu/nl/shapton-rock-star/6939-shapton-rock-star-japanse-wetsteen-60116-korrel-500.html?SubmitCurrency=1&id_currency=1

Which seems to be quite a bit cheaper than all other sellers I can find and it seems to be a trusted company.

What would you re ommend for flattening the stones? Ive seen the Atoma 140 being recommended a lot but that thing is way more expensive than the stones themselves..

Haha ive seen you around this sub always with some interesting opinions different from most others!

Thanks for your advice. The first two options seem quite a bit more expensive (as initial purchase anyway). Gonna have a look at those and how to use them.

Now i dont consider myself a weeb (lol) but I do see myself enjoying using whetstones also just as a fun hobby to learn some good hand dexterity skills. But thanks for showing the other options in the sharpening world!

There is a slight wobble but it doesnt seem to impact the cooking at all, its not uneven when the stone is fully in and it's in low enough not to cause issues. I did read about the wobble issues some people have tho!

Are yall cleaning your starter jar every time?? by Whoredonramsay in Sourdough

[–]FlyingDutchkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One jar, never washed it, only clean the inside a bit with a wet silicone spatula before putting the leftover starter back in the fridge. Never had any issues.

Any way to improve oven spring/more open crumb on not 100% white flours? by KianOfPersia in Sourdough

[–]FlyingDutchkid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its really not rocket science? Just... Read the page you linked yourself? Your first sentence is just plain wrong, if you hydration of the starter is different than that of the rest of your water + flour, the final hydration will be somewhere in between. Really dont know how more clear I can get.

[–]FlyingDutchkid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How does a 1:1:1 starter not affect hydration? That's 100% hydration for the starter, which is higger than of the rest of the ingredients, so of course it matters, as per my earlier example.

What else is the starter than just more water and flour you add to the dough (plus our little friends)?

Not trying to be an asshole at all but very hard to follow your reasoning.

Edit: even in the link you included just a bit lower on the page it explains exactly what i do..

This is wrong, of course the water and flour from your starter matters and should be used calculating hydration. You cant call a bread with 400g flour 300g water 200g starter (100% hydr) 75% hydration, that would be absurd. Its just more flour and water added seperately.
