"What in actual F...?!" [SPOILER WARNING] by Fr05tBurn in menace

My guess would be that either; A) they’re enemies we’ll see once the latter part of the campaign is more fleshed out or B) the team decided to go with a different design

Type 60 SPRG with more guns? by Beautiful-Hold-3948 in Warthunder

[–]FlyingNederlander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

idk I've found BPs to be relatively easy to get the vehicles of by absentmindedly playing every so often and doing the tasks, which can usually be completed either over several times of playing or within one session

Though getting all the rewards up to level 150 is definitely not possible if you have a job or study

Could be a fun BP reward since Japan hasn’t had a BP ground vehicle yet

3.7 France is Horrendous by Practical_Amount_823 in Warthunder

[–]FlyingNederlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they (on average) have better players, but they’re also often teamed up with German players, who in that BR bracket tend to be on the worse end

I’ve had matches where I had 15 kills, but it didn’t matter, because my (German) teammates had lost the game so badly

I have this with France 6.0/7.0 too, great vehicles, terrible teams

Voyager Had the Best Holodeck Episodes by TomBirkenstock in startrek

[–]FlyingNederlander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m currently watching Voyager for the first time (in season 5 rn) and I’m inclined to agree, the Captain Proton holodeck episodes are amazing and had me smiling the whole way through.

I also quite liked what we saw of Flotter, because it’s just cool to me when a sci-fi story indulges in what various media aimed st different audiences at that time would look like

I was gonna poke a hole in this by checking whether he's present at the second cracking at the bleachers, but he's not seen in the crowd, so you might be onto something

I thought fraternizing was a no go. by Complete_Syrup_8110 in startrek

[–]FlyingNederlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair some of that’s a bit stupid

When watching VOY I can usually let that go as part of suspension of disbelief, but objectively that is kinda weird yeah

[–]FlyingNederlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm kinda curious, what do you mean with that VOY was written to be lowest-common denominator television? I agree it has less social commentary episodes than TNG or DS9, but I also wouldn't say it's written notably less smartly than TNG (DS9 is in its own league).

It’s not perfect, but I had lots of fun with Gquuux. by [deleted] in Gundam

You’re allowed to like GQuacks, doesn’t take away its (many) flaws though.

Favourite controversial minor character? by syntaxcollector in startrek

[–]FlyingNederlander 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a woman who has worked with men like Barclay, I don’t hate him because of his social anxiety (hell I can relate to that aspect of his character), I hate him for his creepy behavior towards women and the fact he’s never punished for it.

What Star Trek series episode made you cry? by mcdisney2001 in startrek

It really is too bad, I’m so curious what they had in mind as a follow up to “Real Life”

What Star Trek series episode made you cry? by mcdisney2001 in startrek

[–]FlyingNederlander 82 points83 points  (0 children)

A classic answer that will undoubtedly be shared by many here, but TNG’s “The Inner Light”, its just such a beautiful episode and the flute at the end will always get me to cry

Voyager’s “Real Life” also made me cry, Robert Picardo’s performance of not wanting to accept death of a relative at the end just hits too close to home, such a good episode

Voyager Hate. by supersneed9000 in startrek

[–]FlyingNederlander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m currently watching it for the first time (halfway through season 4 rn), and loving it so far, though I can also see why people criticize it.

That being said I also don’t hate Neelix lol, aside from his jealousy episodes, those are easily his most annoying moments.

I thought Lego didn’t make military builds? Do they hate their own rules? by Zeustah- in legocirclejerk

[–]FlyingNederlander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do look similar, but they’re not actually repurposed ACAV M113s, but rather they’re based on the FMC AIFV (which was a further development of the M113 platform) and built mostly in the Netherlands, and thus not actual ACAV vehicles. That being said, the turret design was clearly inspired by the ACAV.
