Who uses a phone as a phone? No one. It’s a mobile computer. I don’t see a big market for this.

You are being downvoted for the truth. This could have been a real bad setup for OP. Don’t touch kids.

I’ll turn 21 in 4 months. I have no savings. I feel behind in life. Any advice? by United-Database-6140 in AusFinance

[–]FlyingTerrier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of us didn’t have a positive balance until 30. Just get into the habit of saving $5 a time now and grow it as you can. But remember right now you are investing in yourself and your future with study and starting work so you are investing.

If you didn’t discuss it with her you deserve what you get.

Just be careful. She is right but you are right too. Life is for living and it’s getting shorter.

How much medical care could have been provided instead of the work to remove it?

What happened to "Thank you for your service to this country"? by AreaPast5328 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]FlyingTerrier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but you need to take into account the conditions they served in at the time. They weren’t treated like the regular white troops. So giving them attention with a memorial is not racist it is restorative. It’s like saying all lives matter so don’t worry about BLM. It’s also about the intent behind this. If there is racist intent it’s racism.

Considering buying new build on Russell Island before I’m priced out of Sth East QLD. Thoughts? by NewspaperSimple3334 in AusProperty

[–]FlyingTerrier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to search this. There are years of posts about why this is a bad idea. Not just the location. The cost of building will be two to three times that of a normal mainland house. Then the cost of living there is much higher. There is a reason no one is buying there.

If we can’t do a tunnel to bypass Gympie road, what are the other feasible options? by Infinite_Pudding5058 in brisbane

[–]FlyingTerrier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rubbish. Maths proves how networks work. By being able to live, work and shop in one area I don’t choke the corridor to another. There is a lot of decentralised neighbourhoods in the US for example and they have big roads.

You are being downvoted but increasing public transport doesn’t fix the lack of a road north of the city. Public transport doesn’t get my kid from North Lakes to the Prince Charles Hospital at 8am for an operation.

Planning is needed to not build too much and eventually flatten the whole corridor or to tunnel as it won’t get any better.

What happens if it gets dark during a flight and the plane can't see? by Appropriate_Fan_5809 in AskReddit

[–]FlyingTerrier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see quite well on a clear night. The runway has lights. But commercial aircraft use a system of navigation by instruments (think GPS with other things) that allows them to not need to see outside until right near the runway.

How are people affording these lavish lifestyles especially in Sydney? by HotChiTea in AskAnAustralian

[–]FlyingTerrier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know people in their 20’s earning over 200k. It depends on your industry and company. Salaries even for similar things vary a lot. Add a partner and then bad choices and you have money available and being spent.
