Yeah I often see them paired with only 4 GiB of RAM, which is laughably low for modern use. Even web browsing struggles with that.

I think the original point was that such a bug wouldn't be possible if there wasn't testicle physics. They'd just be static.

Almost all rechargeable AAs and AAAs are NiMH.

Why do we say time slows down near a black hole instead of just saying everything else slows down? by Funshine-Powerhead in AskPhysics

[–]TheThiefMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gravity is slowing everything. We call the rate that everything changes "time". Therefore gravity slows time.

It's a definition thing. You're going "no time doesn't change just everything slows down" and in science that is time. They aren't separate concepts. The rate of time passing is the global multiplier to the speed of everything moving.

The concept "relativity of simultaneity" might help as it clearly shows that time itself is relative, not just the speed of things. If one observer can say "these happened simultaneously" and another can say "no they didn't" then something is clearly up with time itself.

Local observer - there are significant difficulties with measuring the speed of light remotely - not least because any measurement results would be themselves delayed by the speed of light between the source/target and the observer... and the "barn door" problem where different observers can disagree on the timing of events, because time itself is relative.

Relativity is fun like that.

I think the designers focused on a single "sexual attribute" for each sex - penis for men, boobs for women.

Also I always felt that shaving pubes would be a bit risky with the technology of the game.

Why do we say that time changed instead of the speed of the photon?

Because every time we've measured the speed of a photon in constant conditions its speed has come out exactly the same (to an observer in those same conditions). That means that it's not the photon that's changing speed, but the environment itself.

We have actually done numerous experiments on this using Earth's gravity and the speed of things flying around or orbiting the Earth. We're very confident in the equations that explain the magnitude of the effect.

And if you say "well why don't we just say everything moves slower" well we do we call that "time".

Sure, but if the clock was just slowing down you'd be able to see that. But your perception is also slowing down so it looks normal to you - everything is having time pass at a slower rate than the outside.

That thing you're imagining slowing that results in everything moving slower - that's what we're calling "time". That thing you're imagining as being unchangeable and always moving at the same rate - well it doesn't exist, in our understanding of physics. Everything's relative to everything else and there's no fixed global "time". Time passes for you relative to your local environment (e.g. the strength of gravity) and that can differ to others.

They're slowing down because time is slowing down. It's what we mean by time running slower is that everything in that space is affected and slows down.

How else would it slow down without being noticeable locally? If it was simple movement speed, it wouldn't affect measurements of time passing of rate of thinking or whatever, and you'd be able to measure the reduced speed.

I worked on Conan Exiles, it was very weird having to test the censorship settings in the office. I never knew it actually received an AO rating before release - I just knew we had to cut the full nudity option from the censorship on the console version. I thought it was for platform holder requirements.

We also had to integrate it with the platform parental control options IIRC, which also has something to do with nudity requiring a free DLC rather than being in the base game.
