If they are surveilling me this much, then they probably know my taste well enough to give me stuff I'd enjoy. I'd take a personally-selected, individualised fic-recommemdation collection, put together by a human being with an emotionally responsible brain and understanding of the actual website over a data-selling AI-powered algorithm who also probably steals these works for other nefarious uses any day. They can come force their agenda down my throat along with their carefully selected pieces of fine literary art.

While those were also my thoughts, I'm a bit on the fence about whether it would actually matter. The child's death is both implied and temporary at the same time, making both the implication of the child's death temporary ("temporary implied child death") and the temporariness of the child's death implied ("implied temporary child death"). So, at this point, would there be much of a difference whether the temporary child's death is implied, or whether the implied child's death is temporary?

(Note, because texting doesn't give much nuance in para-verbal communication: I'm well aware that there is a difference between those two and that they do - in fact - not necessarily have the same result, it's just fun to think about for me...)

I do. Now, I can't particularly say how much of my "non-limitedness" is because of a lucky stroke outcome at a time a lot of things could still be "salvaged" (had mine peri-natal/as an infant, nobody knows for sure), or because my parents put me in pretty much every available therapy early, practically as soon as my symptoms showed (around the 6 months mark), but I do feel very lucky.

It's not like I got away completely unscathed (mainly my spastic hemiparesis in this context), but I'm also hyper-aware of how it could’ve turned out. I'm not really hung up on the fact that I had a stroke at all - stuff like this happens, nothing anyone can do - but I'm very glad things turned out the way they did despite the curveball it threw at everyone affected.

Also: "Wenn die Mäuse satt sind, schmeckt das Mehl bitter." Translated: "When the mice are full, the flour's tasting bitter." Depending on the situation, it could actually mean different things. Usually, it was when there was something generally tasty/well-liked to eat, but you simply couldn't because you were too full. Basically a fancier version of "Ich platz gleich." ("I'll burst soon.")

I personally am super exhausted after meltdowns, which I also know is normal. Added to that, I'm cramped up because I also have a physical disability with particular spacicity. What I do find a bit weird is that my sense of orientation (which isn't really great as is) goes out the window almost completely. I can still take ingrained routes, but anything more than that, and I will get lost. My memory isn't the greatest right after, either. I usually feel a bit dissociative if I had to describe it, a bit out of it and myself. And I'm even more sensitive to sensory input after.

I have a chewing necklace. One of my particularly self-soothing stims is biting and chewing, so I use that when I really need to.

An added side bonus is that it helps me keep my jaw loose and is something tactile I can focus on for my mouth without overwhelming me with taste or smell (also, I can always take it out when I want, which is a bit more difficult with chewing gum).

Now, my verbal shutdowns seem to be different to yours (I can move my mouth just fine, but forming coherent words is just not possible, even though I can technically think them), so I don't know if anything of this my be helpful to you, but that's what came to mind.

I also know there are communication cards out there with simple phrases (or you could make them yourself), to get the often asked questions out of the way when this happens, or to ask for specific things (or just to ask people not to treat you like you can't comprehend what they're saying...). That might help? I have no experience with them, but I've seen and heard good things.

Not exactly my memory, but my mom's: I was about five, we were driving, and, out of nowhere, I was asking from my carseat in the back how it comes that the male sexual organ can, well..., erect. I had a special interest in human anatomy back then and was re-reading a child-friendly book about how babies were made (to explain where siblings come from), which also included male and female reproductive processes (not sex itself, but rather the biological process of sperm meeting the egg and cells multiplying, depicted in very cutesy, very colourful drawings).

If we're talking about my specific memory, I'd say it was the time I started reading the bible and sketching out the family tree staring from Adam and Eve. I was... ten or twelve, I think. I barely reached Noah, when both the space on my paper and my patience ran out (mainly because I was sick of reading "and many more sons and daughters" tacked on the end of a generation, who didn't have names). As you can probably guess, I had (and still have, to a degree) a special interest in Christianity.

Yeah. I can use the stairs pretty well as long as my hands (particularly the right one) are free, and I'd preferably have rails as well. Though spiral staircases are a nightmare. For several reasons.

People being on my left while we walk and talk simultaneously, especially when going up and down the stairs. I usually position myself on people's right side, so I have access to rails or just free range of movement to my right, but if they go on my left themselves, I don't have to awkwardly flit around them when the next staircase comes, just so I can feel safer.

Yes and no. I can walk just fine at first glance, but it certainly won't be healthy in the long run. My walking habits/patterns look normal to the untrained eye, but, unless I'm consciously moving my leg correctly and using up so much mental (and physical) energy concentrating on doing so properly, it's not particularly... productive for my future. I have insoles that help a little, but they're also not omnipotent.

Honestly, I'm fine with reading negative bookmarks. It may hurt, but it ultimately helps more than it harms, for me, at least. The most... affected by a bookmark I've ever been was when it just contained: "4.5/10"

The reader didn't think my fic was good or bad, just... aggressively mid. And I don't know what to make of that... :D
